However, every year the number of brave ones who want to subject their vestibular apparatus to serious tests grows. You can see the most exciting attractions of the world in our photo gallery.
Free Fall Zone – Ohio, the United States
This crazy attraction rightfully ranks first in many ratings: a free fall from a hundred-meter height occurs unexpectedly, given that before that the platform has slowly risen up.
At the moment when it stops, you need to take a breath and get ready for a very fast descent. The challenge is not for the faint of heart!
АтZip World at Penrhyn Quarry – North Wales, the United Kingdom
This extreme attraction, constructed over the Penrhyn quarry, can claim the title of the most terrible in the world.
During the flight over the abyss from a height of several hundred meters, you can see a stunning view of the mountain scenery. The entertainment that the skydivers will like!
X-Scream – Las Vegas, the United States
Three dizzy attractions are located on the tower of the Stratosphere Las Vegas hotel-casino.
The first of them, the X-Scream trailer accelerates at first and then suddenly stops, hanging over the abyss at an altitude of 350 m. Adrenaline is just off the scale!
Insanity – Las Vegas, the United States
The Insanity carousel spins at a 300-meter height 20 meters from the edge of the Stratosphere Las Vegas hotel building, on which it is anchored.
The seats in the open booths are located in such a way that people fastened to the chairs can see the ground and scream with horror.
Big Shot – Las Vegas, the United States
You can feel like a passenger of a rocket when lifting on the Big Shot attraction to the top of the sightseeing tower of the Stratosphere Las Vegas hotel.
Next comes the nerve-wracking descent with a 4G acceleration. Thrills are guaranteed.
Kingda Ka – New Jersey, the United States
Welcome to the highest and second fastest roller coaster in the world, the Kingda Ka attraction in Jackson.
Moving almost at a right angle, the trolleys with a frenzied speed rise to a height of 140 m, and then, zigzagging, swiftly go down. The heartbeat of passengers is restored already on the ground.
Sling Shot – Ayia Napa, Cyprus
Flying like a bullet from the Sling Shot attraction, visitors of the Cyprus amusement park climb to the height of the 15-story building for just a couple of seconds, and then quickly fall down, several times in a row.
And although the views that open at such a height are simply stunning, there is no time to enjoy them.
Edge Walk – Toronto, Canada
This attraction allows you to walk along the parapet of the CN Tower in Toronto which is 356 m high.
There are no barriers, no handrails, one should rely only on the safety belt with a rope. Half an hour of exciting emotions is provided!
Takabisha – Fujiyoshida, Japan
Takabisha, a roller coaster in the park of Fuji-Q Highland, has the biggest angle of descent, thanks to which you can experience the feeling of absolute weightlessness. The trip at an altitude of 43 m lasts about two minutes.
On another attraction, Dodonpa, the trains accelerate to 172 km/h, giving to the passengers a minute of inexpressible feelings.
Shweeb – Rotorua, New Zealand
In New Zealand's Agroventures Adventure Park, there is an attraction that can well become a worthy alternative to modern types of urban transport.
You need to regulate the speed of movement on the Shweeb monorail road diligently turning the pedals in a single capsule.
White Cyclone – Kuwana, Japan
Japanese White Cyclone, located in the Nagashima Spa Land amusement park, is on the list of the longest roller coaster in the world: the length of the route, including spiral descents and ascents, is 1.7 km.
From a distance, it may seem that the structure of the attraction will not withstand significant overloads, but these fears are in vain: White Cyclone is as reliable as attractions made of steel and iron.
Formula Rossa – Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates
You can become a Formula One pilot at the fastest of all roller coasters in the Ferrari World theme park.
Because of the huge speed that the trolley reach, you can get "behind the wheel" only in special glasses.
Giant Canyon Swing – Colorado, the United States
At the very edge of the 400-meter cliff, there is the Giant Canyon Swing attraction. The construction can take on board four passengers at once and swing them at a speed of 80 km/h.
Anyone who wants to tickle his nerves will have to take responsibility for his life, putting a signature on the relevant document.

US-China trade war could weigh on Apple |
Apple could bear the brunt of Donald Trump’s latest proposal to slap an additional trade levy on goods imported from China as the lion’s share of the US-technology giant’s accessories are made at Chinese plants.
The tech giant’s fast-growing division which includes HomePod smart speaker, the Apple Watch and Airpod wireless headphones would be potentially hit by the tariffs. According to analysts’ estimates, the products would see price hikes in case the US plan to impose another $200 billion worth of Chinese imports with a 10% tariff is given the green light.
Apple’s rivals including Google, Аmazon, Sonos, and Fitbit could also feel the sting of Trump’s protectionist regime. The new tariffs would hurt many large-cap companies in the United States, Morgan Stanley survey showed.
Apple’s accessories unit is getting all the more important after stagnation of its computer, iPad and smartphone businesses, with the tariffs putting it at risk of failure.
At the moment, accessories sales fuel Apple's revenue growth, so it is clear that the tech giant is concerned about Donald Trump’s readiness to slap heavy tariffs on all Chinese goods imported into the US.

US economy skyrockets thanks to Trump |
It is the second year of the Donald Trump's presidency, one of the most controversial leaders in US history. His promises given during the election campaign, despite skepticism and a lot of critical remarks, come true. The US economy grew at its fastest pace thanks to the Trump's trading war.
The media announced that in the second quarter the US GDP increased by 4.1%. Information continues to be discussed across the world, as this is the highest rate since 2014. Trump did something that Barack Obama couldn't do in the last years of the presidency.
Now, however, as always, the current American leader is pleased, proud of himself and very talkative. Estimating the statistics, Trump recalled, in case someone forgot, that he managed to keep the pre-election promise and bring the economic growth to 4%. He said that now the US economy may be the “greatest in history.”
What do analysts think about this? First, they operate with facts. The economy managed to skyrocket at the expense of consumer demand which grew thanks to last year's tax cuts. The activity of exporters also helped: they are in a hurry to deliver more goods before the tightening of international trade taxes.
But the data is too positive, so they decided to dilute it with some pessimistic forecasts, pointing out that such optimistic indicators should be perceived as a one-off success caused by temporary factors. In the future, such high figures may not appear.
Experts predict a decline to 3% in the second six months. In addition to experts' opinions, there is another reason to expect a slowdown in the economy. It's about raising the Fed's base rate which affects the overall level of rates in the market and makes loans to businesses and the population more expensive.

Most amazing underwater sights of the world |
As you know, human thought and fantasy has no boundaries, so you can see unusual sights in different parts of the world.
However, not all of them are man-made: natural wonders hidden under water are of great interest. Read more about them in our photo gallery.
Underwater Yonaguni Monument, Japan
An amazing submerged rock formation located at the southernmost point of the Japanese island was discovered by divers in 1986.
According to scientists, the Yonaguni complex was built by representatives of an ancient highly developed civilization no less than 10 thousand years ago. In favor of this version, there are terraces, similar to the staircases, with flat, straight sides and sharp corners reminiscent of something like the stepped pyramids of the Ancient Sumer.
In addition, this is a good place to observe the hammerhead sharks. There are a lot of them here in winter.
Underwater Museum Sculptures, Cancun, Mexico
The Mexican city of Cancun has recently become one of the world's major centers for divers.
The idea to divert the attention of tourists from coral reefs belongs to sculptor and diver Jason deCaires Taylor who now plans to create a huge underwater museum in the Caribbean Sea with 27,000 exhibits named Silent Evolution. It must remind people how closely they are connected with nature and convey the physical and social evolution of man from antiquity to modern times.
Underwater Museum Sculptures, Cancun, Mexico
The museum exposition includes more than 400 sculptures united in groups. All of them have a steel frame inside and stand on the bottom of the sea on impressive pedestals. The Taylor's Underwater Sculpture Museum, which from afar can be taken for a cemetery of a civilization that has gone under water, is planned to be completed by 2025.
Interest in this place is fueled by the fact that most of the sculptures are created in the image and likeness of the descendants of the Maya, the ancient Indian tribes that once inhabited the Yucatan peninsula.
Devil's Cave System in Ginnie Springs, Florida, the USA
Crystal clear water, comfortable temperature and incredible landscapes of underwater caves in the Ginnie Springs area make them quite popular among divers. And if you can dive without a special tight suit, then you should not forget about the safety rules: these caves are known for their strong undercurrents and whirlpools, for which they are often called "devilish".
Sweepstakes Sunken schooner, Lake Huron, Canada
You do not need to be a diver to see a huge ship in the clear waters of the Canadian Lake Huron stranded in the distant 1885.
Despite the fact that the schooner decently suffered during the storm, its remains are well preserved and now delight visitors of the Fathom Five National Marine Park.
To prevent the divers from penetrating the ship and further destroying it, metal cables were pulled between its fragments and the wire fence was put.
Cenotes Dos Ojos, Tulum, Mexico
The collapse of the limestone cave's roof resulted in the creation of several natural cenotes fascinating with their beauty.
Cenotes, discovered about 30 years ago, look like two big eyes and represent a wide network of surface and underwater caves, the purest waters of which are literally pierced by the golden rays of the sun which creates a magnificent play of light and colors under the water.
Swimming and snorkeling (scuba diving with a tube and a mask) in the cenote will leave indelible impressions. In the early 2000s, in the "chambers" with stalactites and stalagmites, the IMAX company filmed several movies.
Christ of the Abyss, San Fruttuoso, Italy
You can include a statue, located in the Italian bay of San Fruttuoso at a depth of 17 m, to the list of the most famous sculptural images of Christ. Thousands of divers from all over the world dream to visit it.
Christ of the Abyss was installed in 1954 by sculptor Guido Galletti in memory of the Italian diver, drowned in the bay, who created an aqualung, Dario Gonzatti. The face and hands of Christ are raised to heaven symbolizing peace and good.
Periodically, the figure of the Son of God, cast in commemorative medals, ships and bells, is taken from the sea for cleaning and reconstruction. Copies and versions of the monument can be found in the area of the Dry Rocks underwater coral reef (Florida, the USA), as well as in the waters of the Maltese archipelago.
Great Blue Hole, Belize
The Belize barrier reef has gained worldwide fame thanks to the huge round karst funnel located on its territory. Because of its exceptional dimensions (300 m in diameter and 120 m in depth), the Great Blue Hole of Belize is protected by UNESCO.
It was formed when, under the influence of rising sea level, the roof of the underwater cave collapsed. After the research conducted here by the team of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, the karst pit entered the list of 10 best places for diving.
Green Lake, Tragoess, Austria
The famous lake in the Austrian village of Tragoess becomes one of the most interesting wonders of nature from April to October when during the rapid thawing of snow the space in the gorge is filled with crystal clear water which becomes emerald green.
Guests of the underwater park can relax on the benches amidst the swaying trees, walk along the green lawns, admire the bright flower beds and the flocks of fish swimming by.
Silfra Fissure, Island
The underwater gorge of Silfra, or the "Silver Lady", located in the Thingvellir Icelandic national park, earned a huge popularity among divers from all over the world.
The immersion in the underwater world of the lava gorge hidden in the depths of the largest lake in Iceland will not leave anyone indifferent: the visibility in clear water exceeds 100 m, and the flora and fauna are so rich that they made this site a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Chuuk Lagoon, Micronesia
Strong currents of the open ocean almost did not touch the terrible picture, imbued with such atmosphere of pain and despair that it will be erased only after centuries. Soldiers had no chances to survive: the crews of many vessels drowned. The dying people could only watch with horror how the water one by one filling the compartments displacing the last breaths of air.
Here, among human remains, unexploded ordnance, army equipment, boxes of food, divers continue to die, so it is forbidden to dive alone or disappear from the sight of other divers.
Underwater Post office, Vanuatu
Vanuatu, one of the poorest countries on the planet, has been actively developing tourism in recent years.
So, on the island, there is a real post office working for 15 years already, the underwater office of which is located 30 meters from the shore at a depth of three meters.
You can buy a thematic plastic postcard in a small kiosk, then you should put it in a small red box. The joy of receiving such a postcard is not inferior to the pleasure of sending it.
Chuuk Lagoon, Micronesia
Who would have thought that under the crystal clear tropical waters off the coast of Micronesia one of the largest cemeteries of military equipment in the world is located, the infamous Chuuk Lagoon.
In 1944, in this heavenly place, as a result of a massive air raid of American troops, dozens of ships and hundreds of aircraft were sunk at the strategic center of the Japanese navy. A carefully planned attack led to an unexpectedly quick and easy victory. After a quarter of a century, French military researcher Jacques-Yves Cousteau discovered this wiped out Japanese military base, and since then the natural lagoon, like a magnet, attracts all who can not live without extreme sensations.

After a quarter of a century, French military researcher Jacques-Yves Cousteau discovered this wiped out Japanese military base, and since then the natural lagoon, like a magnet, attracts all who can not live without extreme sensations.

Facebook stock drops more than 24% |
The most popular social network in the world is pulling down the entire technological sector of the United States. Recently, Facebook's stock showed a devastating fall. The company's securities dropped in price by more than 24% in a day. Record losses were the result of the market participants reaction to the published earnings reports of the company.
Facebook management disappointed investors and analysts with weak quarterly revenue growth. According to official data, Facebook revenue for the second quarter of this year increased by about 42 percent on year and amounted to $13.23 billion. It would seem quite good, but analysts expected the revenue to reach $13.36 billion. A relatively small difference between forecasts and reality cost the company $150 billion - the amount the market capitalization of Facebook declined by. At the same time, it should be noted that the net profit of Facebook grew to $5.11 billion.
Naturally, it also influenced the founder and head of the social network Mark Zuckerberg. The fall in shares value and, as a result, market cap directly threatens Mark's rating on the list of the world's richest people. Now he occupies the third line, but, most likely, Zuckerberg will have to move down.

IMF says Russian ruble undervalued, dollar overvalued |
According to the latest report by the International Monetary Fund, the Russian ruble has been undervalued, while the US dollar has been overvalued.
The IMF said that the ruble is undervalued by around 5%. It added that increased geopolitical tensions led to the depreciation of the ruble, but did not change the overall estimate of its value.
Economists cited extension of US sanctions, a blow to major manufacturers and the mining industry as the reasons behind the decline in the exchange rate.
The report also said that the US dollar is overvalued by 8-16% compared with the medium-term fundamental value. A year earlier, the IMF estimated the overvaluation of the American currency at 10-20%.
Following the report, Russian media praised the IMF, saying it is a credible organization, after long being dismissive of all of its reports.

Trump accuses China of currency manipulation |
A trade war between two world’s biggest economies has got to a new level. The sides stooped to heated exchange of ambitious statements, explicit threats and real actions such as imposing tariffs. Outside observers say that the United States took the lead in this battle despite the fact that it has to cope with several opponents at a time.
Besides China, the United States is in disagreement with its neighbors, Mexico and Canada, and the European countries. But even that state of things does not enable China to cause any serious damage to the American economy. Besides, Trump has a secret weapon – the Tweet button. Every message on his Twitter account produces a significant impact upon the global financial markets. Just recently, one Trump’s tweet contributed to a plunge in the ruble’s exchange rate, and now the yuan is facing downside risks. The US President accuses China of deliberate devaluation of the national currency aimed at providing support to exporters that suffer losses due to the trade conflict. However, his accusations are partially objective, as the Chinese national currency actually depreciated by 15% year to date.
Trump does not like such currency manipulations, so they can become a good reason for another attack on China that preferred to take the defensive stance. Other countries can only passively watch this battle of two superpowers and wait for the outcome.
