Sarah was trembling as she bathed in the thick sludge. It coated her all over, every inch of her, and as she climbed out of the tub he was waiting. He posed her and smoothed out the coating and adjusted her hair and made sure that she was properly coated before he sprayed her with the sealing polymer. The change was fast and she closed her eyes as it spread over her body, freezing her in place. She was still awake and aware and yet she couldn’t move a single muscle, couldn’t twitch or tremble or blink or do anything but breathe as he looked her over and smiled.

"I don’t know if you can hear me, Sarah, I’ve never had the opportunity to ask if hearing is affected, but this is a very permanent mixture." He said, making sure every line and curve was just right. "It will not prevent you from breathing, so you’ll live a while yet, but there is no way for you to get water or food or rest so the next three days will be very interesting ones for you. I hope you enjoy your time as a fixture in my garden." And then he walked away, past the other statues that had been other girls before Sarah, girls that had been left here to die in the garden before he had drilled a small hole in the bottom and injected acid into the concrete moulds to liquefy their flesh and drain it away, leaving just a hollow shell filled with the lovely bones of the tragic, beautiful girls.

As he went Sarah realized that she couldn’t even cry. She had agreed to be his model, to stand for a while during a party as an art object that he would then release with a generous pay. And she could indeed hear him and the lies that entrapped her were as firm as the concrete that was now her entire universe.
