KELLY ROWLAND - ROWLAND + WILLIAMS FUEL BEYONCE/JAY-Z WEDDING RUMOURS

Суббота, 05 Апреля 2008 г. 13:35 + в цитатник
_Celebrity_Girl_ (Kelly_Rowland) все записи автора KELLY ROWLAND and MICHELLE WILLIAMS have fuelled speculation their DESTINY'S CHILD bandmate BEYONCE KNOWLES will marry her longtime beau JAY-Z in New York this weekend (4-6Apri08), after revealing they both flew into the city earlier this week (begs31Mar08).
The Crazy In Love superstar and rap mogul Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter successfully applied for a wedding licence in Scarsdale, New York on Tuesday (01Apr08), prompting rumours they will exchange nuptials on Friday (04Apr08).
On Thursday (03Apr08), New York news organisations reported Knowles is currently in the Big Apple, together with Williams and her mother Tina.
A number of gossip websites also claimed Jay-Z had cleared his busy schedule for the day, after holding an alleged bachelor party in Toronto, Canada, where he has been touring with Mary J. Blige.
And now Rowland and Williams have posted a new video message to fans on YouTube.com.
In the footage, the pair can be seen fooling around when Rowland says, "We're out of town... in a hotel room."
Williams coyly adds, "In an undisclosed location...", before Rowland admits they are "in the Four Seasons in New York".
The Dilemma star goes on to detail her hectic work schedule, but remains quiet about the real purpose of their stay in the city: "I just got back from London... going to Denver this weekend to go see some friends..."
And she explains the absence of Knowles simply by saying, "B's in the studio tonight..."
Representatives for both Knowles and Carter are still refusing to comment on the marriage reports.

Kelly: I would never become a size zero. I work out because I want to look good naked, simple as that. My least favourite part of my body is my butt, because it has stretch marks. I am not perfect! When I was a little girl I thought I was ugly. My nose was too big for my face.

Bleu.

Kelly Rowland - Work

During her formative years, Rowland was raised primarily by her mother Doris Garrison in Houston. However, the work commitments of her mother's job as a live-in nanny led to a mutual decision between Rowland, her mother, and the family of fellow group member Beyoncé Knowles that Rowland should live with the Knowles family because it was difficult for Rowland's mother to travel with Rowland back and forth for rehearsals after she joined Destiny's Child. Rowland's mother often visited her and the Knowles'. In the May 2006 issue of Essence magazine, Rowland is pictured with her biological mother Doris Garrison and her foster mother Tina Knowles accompanying the article entitled "Mothers Love." Rowland wrote an open letter to both Doris Garrison and Tina Knowles, which is published in the article, expressing her love towards both of her "two mothers" for raising her and supporting her career.

Rowland lived with the family of fellow group member Beyoncé Knowles starting at age 11 and was mistakenly (and helped by the media) referred to as her cousin. Rowland first met LaTavia Roberson in elementary school who eventually introduced her to Beyoncé. The girls met Letoya Luckett and formed a quartet that would perform in their backyards and in Tina Knowles' beauty shop. After performing at local events, they got their break when they entered Star Search. The group, then named Girls Tyme, was heartbroken when they lost the competition. Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé's father and Rowland's legal guardian, decided to help the girls reach their dreams of becoming singers. He quit his six-figure salary at Xerox to manage the group. In the summer 2006 issue of VIBE Vixen magazine, Rowland denounced rumours that Beyoncé's father was also her biological father, stating the rumor as being "a lie from the pit of hell." Rowland confesses that her "parents' situation was so terrible, I don't know where I would be if my real father was still in my life," and she explains that her real father "hasn't tried to find me and I have not tried to find him." She attended Lamar High School, in Houston, Texas.

Birth Place: Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Date of Birth: February 11, 1981
Heritage: American
Famous for: One third of the R&B trio Destiny's Child

"Dilemma"

Background:

"I wanted people to be able to see me as me, not just as that girl from Destiny's Child. I wanted them to see someone who has gone through a lot of real life experiences and is so happy and so blessed. I wanted people to really see a side of me that they may not know." Kelly Rowland

One-third of the popular female group Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland rose to fame with the success of the group. In 1997, together with DC, Rowland launched the multi-platinum single "No, No, No" and subsequently released the platinum self-titled debut album in 1998.

1999's The Writing's on the Wall, whose three hit singles "Jumpin', Jumpin'," "Say My Name" and "Bills, Bills, Bills," gained platinum certification in the U.S and sold more than 10 million copies internationally. Additionally, Destiny's Child won their first Grammy with the song "Say My Name." In 2001, their third album, titled Survivor, hit the music shelves and also went platinum. With the hit track "Bootylicious," the trio won their second Grammy as well as Billboard, American Music and Soul Train awards in the following year.

In 2002, Kelly Rowland made a name for herself with the hit single "Dilemma" featuring superstar rapper Nelly. It soon achieved the number 1 position on both the U.S and U.K singles charts. Moreover, Rowland won a Grammy and received nominations for Record of the Year and for Music Video at the Soul Train Music Awards. She followed it up with the release of her debut album Simply Deep, which was eventually certified gold and topped the U.K LP chart.

Kelly Rowland was listed 29th in the Singles Artist of the Year list in 2002 and the 87th Singles Artist of the Year in 2003. As for her private life, the R&B beauty, and Pro Bowl Safety 'Roy Williams' of the Dallas Cowboys announced their engagement on May 10, 2004, after dating for six months. However, the couple parted ways a year later.

Being asked about the rumor, she said, "The wedding's off! I'm not telling (if I gave the ring back). And before you ask, there's no one new. It has it's up and downs being single. But I never will again (talk about my boyfriends). I get it now - the next time I fall in love, I'm just going to shut up."

Rowland and the members of "Destiny Child" announced that they would be splitting up after their tour ends in the fall.

Whitney Houston's Aficionado

Childhood and Family:

Atlanta, Georgia native musician and actress Kelendria Trene Rowland, who would later be famous as Kelly Rowland, was born on February 11, 1981. She spent most of her childhood in Atlanta until the family moved to Houston, Texas, where she attended Lamar High School.

"I used to drive my mommy up the wall trying to listen out for Whitney! I remember getting her first album as the first record I ever owned. I played it every day." Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland demonstrated a knack for singing when she was just a little girl. At age four, motivated by Whitney Houston, Kelly started singing in the choir of her church. When the family relocated to Houston, Texas, Kelly's mounting interest in music bloomed. She joined Beyonce, LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett to perform on Star Search in 1992. By the mid 1990s, they formed a female group named Destiny's Child. In 2001, LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett unexpectedly departed from the group, but Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin soon replaced them. Five months later, Franklin left the group, hence making the Destiny Child trio. With the group, Kelly experienced huge success as well as gained worldwide exposure.

Additionally, Kelly made a name for herself when she debuted with her solo album and added acting to her endeavors. 5' 8" inch tall Kelly no longer lives with fellow band member Beyonce. She currently has her own house in Sugar Land, Texas.

Simply Deep

Career:

"We wanted our solo albums (each member of DC is working on individual projects) to be different from Destiny's Child so that people wouldn't compare them to the group's work. The albums are an opportunity for people to get to know our personalities. In my case, I'm sure that most of my fans didn't realize how much I have always loved rock. In fact, when I first went into the studio and told the producers I wanted a mixture of Sade with really edgy rock, they looked at me like I was crazy! And honestly, about halfway through the recording process even I was wondering if you could mix off those influences together. But it all worked out wonderfully." Kelly Rowland

Discovering her interest lay with singing when she was just four, the big fan of Whitney Houston, Kelly Rowland, began singing with a church choir in her hometown. After the family's relocation to Houston, Rowland's early interest of music paid off when she was teamed with Beyonce, LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett to perform on Star Search in 1992. By the mid 1990s, under the guidance of Beyonce's father (manager Matthew Knowles), the quartet formed Destiny's Child.

With the group, Rowland launched their first smash single "No, No, No" in 1997, which was certified multi platinum, and the platinum self-titled album followed in 1998. Within the busy time touring, the youthful group gained worldwide fame with the release of 1999's The Writing's on the Wall. The album spawned three hit singles: "Jumpin', Jumpin'," "Say My Name" and "Bills, Bills, Bills," went platinum in the United States and sold more than 10 million copies internationally.

LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett ended out leaving the group but Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin quickly replaced them. However, the new quartet became a trio as soon as Farrah Franklin departed. In 2001, through the hugely success of their album, the new Destiny's Child won a Grammy for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for "Say My Name."

That same year, Rowland and the group released their third album, Survivor (2001). Followed the great success of their second album, it also gained platinum certification, won another Grammy in 2002, as well as Billboard, American Music and Soul Train awards with the hit track "Bootylicious."

After the release of DC's Christmas album, Kelly Rowland tried her hand at solo projects. The hit single "Dilemma," a duet with superstar rapper Nelly, hit the Top 10 and quickly peaked at No. 1 by the end of August 2002, staying there for 7 weeks. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for 10 weeks, the Hot 100 Airplay chart for 12 weeks, the Rap Singles chart for 10 weeks, the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for 9 weeks, and the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for 9 weeks. In September, the infectious track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top 40 Tracks chart for 7 weeks. In 2003, Rowland took home a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Dilemma" with Nelly) as well as received nominations for Record of the Year and for Music Video at the Soul Train Music Awards.

Following the victory of her infectious single, Rowland launched her debut album Simply Deep on October 2002. The first single from the album, "Stolen," was written and produced by Dane Deviller, Sean Hosein and Steve Kipner. As soon as the single hit the music shelves, it hit the Top 40 solo and the Top 10 solo charts. The single also peaked at number 2 in Australia and gained platinum certification.

"The song is amazing! Solange is so talented and she's so professional in the studio and the sessions were so much fun and so calm. Honestly, I thought it would be weird to work with her because she's like my little sister, but it was magic." Kelly Rowland

The younger sister of Rowland's DC co-star Beyonce, Solonge, wrote the album's title track "Simple Deep" for Rowland, while in "(Love Lives In) Strange Places," "Heaven," and "Make U Wanna Stay" were co-written and sung by Rowland.

Adding to her triumphs, the album was finally certified gold in Australia, reached number 5 and topped the UK LP chart in February 2003.

"Acting is great! It's wonderful to have this opportunity. It's a dream come true." Kelly Rowland

Rowland branched out to acting when she guest-starring in the sitcom The Hughleys (2002, played the character of Carly). In 2003, she made her silver screen debut when she was cast as Kia Waterson in the horror blockbuster Freddy Vs. Jason. The following year, Rowland was seen as Jhnelle, a celebrity who falls for an aspiring lawyer in the family film, Tisha Campbell Martin's The Seat Filler (2004, starring Duane Martin).

Coooooool!

As one third of Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling female musical groups of all time, Kelly Rowland has brought the sound of her voice to millions of fans. She's graced videos, been featured in magazines and performed on television and concert stages worldwide. She's experienced #1 hits, multi-platinum albums, industry accolades, won Grammys and other awards, and felt the love of press and fans. And now, she's ready to show the world another side of Kelly Rowland with the release of Simply Deep, her debut solo album, on Music World Music/Columbia Records.

Featuring songs written by Steve Kipner, Billy Mann, Solange Knowles, and Kelly Rowland and guest appearances from Nelly and Joe Budden; produced by Rich Harrison (Amerie) Robert Smith, Damon Elliott, and Rob Fusari; executive-produced by Matthew Knowles of Music World Music, Simply Deep is an exhilarating glimpse into Kelly's heart and soul. Which was exactly her desire. "I wanted people to be able to see me as me, not just as that girl from Destiny's Child," Kelly says. "I wanted them to see someone who has gone through a lot of real life experiences and is so happy and so blessed. I wanted people to really see a side of me that they may not know." To reach that goal Kelly decided to go for her solo sound in a remarkably fresh and unexpected way. Simply Deep contains stinging electric guitars and gentle acoustic six-strings, atmospheric synths and turntable scratches.

Her thoughtful lyrics tackle everything from God to love towhatever lies in between while her musical joints will make you nod your head to the groove. There's rock 'n' roll, a confessional singer/song writer vibe, sultry R&B and an edgy undercurrent. Simply put, Simply Deep is not what you might expect from a member of Destiny's Child. Which was, according to Kelly, the point: "We wanted our solo albums (each member of DC is working on individual projects) to be different from Destiny's Child so that people wouldn't compare them to the group's work.

The albums are an opportunity for people to get to know our personalities. In my case, I'm sure that most of my fans didn't realize how much I have always loved rock. In fact when I first went into the studio and told the producers I wanted a mixture of Sade with really edgy rock, they looked at me like I was crazy! And honestly, about halfway through the recording process even I was wondering if you could mix off those influences together. But it all worked out wonderfully." Proof of which can be heard on the single "Stole." Written and produced by Dane Deviller, Sean Hosein and Steve Kipner, "Stole" sets the tone for Simply Deep by being emotional, evocative, soulful and a typical in its subject matter and sound. A cautionary tale about life and its consequences, "Stole" affected Kelly the first time she heard it ."I loved the lyrics and the melody," she says. "It's such a passionate song."

Equally passionate is "Heaven," co-written and produced by Alonzo Jackson, who also plays drums, bass and guitar on the track. The sexy ballad, one of several co-written by Kelly, draws its inspiration from real life. "I'd never been in love and then I met someone and he made me feel like heaven," she confesses. "This song is an expression of those feelings." Love is also in the air on "Dilemma," a duet with superstar rapper Nelly.

The infectious track, which burned up the radio this summer and stayed at #1 for nearly two months, takes Patti LaBelle's hit "Love, Need and Want You," to a funky new level, because as Kelly laughs knowingly, "we put our own stink on it." During the video shoot, Kelly met Patti LaBelle and was thrilled when the legendary diva praised Kelly's rendition of her hit. "I started crying," Kelly admits, "because there's nothing like hearing that the artist who originally did the song likes your version." The album's title track, "Simply Deep," was written for Kelly by Solange Knowles, the younger sister of Kelly's Destiny's Child co-star, Beyonc?. Solange is featured as a singer on the track and arranged the vocals. "The song is amazing!," Kelly exclaims. "Solange is so talented and she's so professional in the studio and the sessions were so much fun and so calm. Honestly, I thought it would be weird to work with her--because she's like my little sister--but it was magic." Recording her album gave Kelly a chance t

o shine on her own as a vocalist while exploring other facets of her talent.

In addition to arranging the vocals on several tracks, Kelly co-wrote three songs--"(Love Lives In) Strange Places," "Heaven," and "Make U Wanna Stay"--for the album. "I love that Beyonc? writes," Kelly says, "and it's something I've always wanted to try. When Destiny's Child would be in the studio, I'd ask her questions. She really encouraged me and told me I could do it. I was nervous but when I was working on my album I collaborated with the other writers and they really gave me the courage and tools to put my thought on paper."

Yet another creative outlet for Kelly is acting. She made an appearance on the sit- com "The Hughleys" and will soon make her big screen debut as "Lori" in the horror film "Freddy vs. Jason." "Acting is great!," Kelly enthuses. "It's wonderful to have this opportunity. It's a dream cometrue." Kelly has been working to pursue her dreams since she was a little girl in Atlanta, Georgia. By the age of 4, inspired by her love of Whitney Houston, Kelly was already telling her mother that she wanted to sing. "I used to drive my mommy up the wall trying to listen out for Whitney!" Kelly laughs. "I remember getting her first album it as the first record I ever owned. I played it every day." Kelly began singing in church though she was so young she had to stand on a chair to reach the mike. The experience of performing changed her life forever. "When I was singing I was in my own world, and everyone was looking at me," she remembers. "I was so happy and I thought "Oh, I like this." Kelly's love for music blossomed afte

r her family relocated to Houston where she became friends with Beyonc? Knowles.

The two gifted teens started singing together in and, in the mid 1990s, formed Destiny's Child. The group released its first smash single, "No, No, No" in November 1997 with the first platinum album, Destiny's Child, following in February 1998. Destiny's Child's follow-up effort, 1999's The Writing's On the Wall was certified 8x RIAA platinum in the United States and went on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide. The success of that album was matched when Destiny's Child dropped the multi-platinum worldwide smash Survivor in 2001.

Ask Kelly if she's pleased with her new album and she beams. "I rememberhow happy I was when we finished The Writing's On The Wall and Survivor because each song was so great. I wanted to recapture that feeling when I made my own record and when I sat back and listened to the finished album,I felt so blessed thought, 'Gosh, God is good' because I was allowed to see my vision through and it all worked out so well. Yes, I'm very happy. "Simply Deep is about the full range of life and love in all its pain and joy and happiness. In it, Kelly Rowland communicates the depth and passion of her experience, sharing it all with her fans.
