Просто представь себе: ты — 17тилетний певец-композитор, делающий все возможное и невозможное, чтобы быть замеченным; а потом — даже быстрее, чем ты можешь произнести слово «Complicated» — имеешь собственный мировой хит. На тебя обрушиваются слава и деньги, ты уезжаешь из маленького городка навстречу новой жизни. И вскоре, ты уже начинаешь требовать только импорные бутылки с водой и дизайнерские вещи, которых у тебя накопилось огромное количество — и ты получаешь все это. Фактически, ты получаешь все, что ни захочешь в любое время. В конце концов к 20 годам ты уже 10 раз решил все бросить, отложить дату выхода нового альбома, который, между прочим за тебя сделали в буквальном смысле другие, и наблюдать, как ты и твоя карьера катишься по инерции. Неплохо звучит, да? Чтож, это не про Avril Lavigne. Ее правда более сложна.
Да, она впервые вышла на сцену в 17 лет, была выдвинута на огромное количество номинаций Грэмми, еще не достигнув 20 лет; затем купила дом и вышла за муж за рок-звезду (для тех, кто не помнит — ее мужа зовут Deryсk Whibley и он лидер группы Sum-41) в 22 года. Но все это не так просто, как может показаться на первый взгляд. Месяцы, проведенные без семьи, друзей и домашней еды — все это было заменено сумасшедшим расписанием турне (и различных промо-выступлений) и длилось 3 года. Изнурительный тур заставил Av пересечь Атлантический океан в 10 раз чаще, чем могут позволить себе это несколько подростоков. Она научилась контролировать все, что имело бы хоть какое-то отношение к ней. К примеру, до начала нашей фотосессии певица лично убедилась и просмотрела каждую вещь, которую мы ей предложили одеть.
Некоторые называют такое поведение сложным, но она категорически отрицает это: «Мой имидж состоит из меня самой и я хочу быть откровенна с собой». Ее голос и решение — в центре и она не собирается подчиняться кому-либо. Если она не чувствует чего-то, будь то выступление на сцене, интервью или фотосессия — будьте уверены, она выскажет вам свои возражения немедленно (одежда, предложенная нами, певице понравилась: «Я ценю то, что вы, ребята, не пытаетесь изменить мой стиль»).
Говоря другими словами, если она делает какие-то ошибки — делает это сама. Av всегда старалась контролировать все стадии своей карьеры и нужно сказать, что добилась неплохих результатов (5 ее хитов достигли 1 строчек хит-парадов по всему миру). Чтобы хоть немного расскрыть сущность это девушки приведем несколько фактов, которые необходимо иметь в виду.
Ей никто не принес карьеру на золотой тарелочке
Когда тинейджеры ее возраста проводили дни в супер-маркетах, Avril упорно работала и выступала с концертами в 20 канадских магазинах в поддержку своего дебютного альбома «Let Go». Но 2 и 3 альбомы дались Av не так легко — «Under My Skin» (более 17 миллионов экземпляров которого распроданы по всему миру) и «The Best Damn Thing», стартовавший сразу с 1 позиции, стали результатом 2 мировых туров и сотен интервью.
Она может выпустить сборник хитов, имея всего лишь 3 альбома за плечами
Кроме 2 последних синглов «Girlfriend» и «When You’re Gone» (и одного супер-хита, написанного для Kelly Clarkson — «Breakaway»), у Avril уже есть 10 треков, вошедших в 20ку лучших песен хит-парада Billboard.
В следующем году у нее будет тур по Канаде
«В этом году я выступаю на европейских фестивалях, а в 2008 буду давать концерты в Канаде. Я уже продумала будущий сет-лист, определила состав группы, с которой я собираюсь выступать в этом турне, думала о световых эффектах, подтанцовке и сцене в целом. Мои предыдущие выступления были хорошими, но сейчас я хочу, чтобы они стали лучшими. Конечно, мне всегда что-то не нравится, но чем больше я выступаю — тем лучше у меня получается.»
У нее есть догадка насчет недоброжелателей
Я думаю, что одна из причин, по которой я не нравлюсь некоторым людям заключена в смелости и силе моего характера. Я «получу все, что захочу», к тому же я честна. Я не подлизываюсь и не могу врать. «Я люблю смотреть на «Complicated» и «Sk8er Boi», потому что я на них совсем другая. Я вела себя, как пацанка и была очень сильной внутри. Но сейчас я не такая. Я имею в виду, что это все еще во мне, но я повзрослела.»
Она родилась не в Napanee
Вообще-то, певица родилась в Bellevill’е, а ее родители переехали в Napanee, когда малышке было 5 лет. В прошлом году журнал «Canadian Bussiness» включил Avril в необычный список канадских актеров, имеющий определенный «вес» в Голливуде (певица озвучила мультяшного персонажа в фильме «Over The Hedge» и снялась в эпизоде фильма «Fast Food Nation»). Tina Kennedy, один из менеджеров, работающая с певицей 4 года, говорит: «Av включена в каждую составляющую ее карьеры — включая финансовый момент. За ней — решающее слово.»
Она знает, как надо петь в церкви

«Я до сих пор ненавижу папарацци, но я люблю погоду, люблю ходить в рестораны и заниматься шоппингом.»
Она не жалуется на свою жизнь
«Даже когда мне было 16 лет, мне было все равно, что думают обо мне другие. Мне никто ничего не навязывал, я делала то, что хотела; я вторила моему внутреннему голосу. Я ни о чем не жалела и не собираюсь этого делать.»

Детство и молодость
Аврил Лавин родилась в городе Белвилл канадской провинции Онтарио в семье франко-канадцев и католиков Джона и Джуди Лавин. С пяти лет Лавин росла в городке Napanee. Там она пела в церковном хоре, училась играть на гитаре, пела в стиле кантри. Клифф Фабри, первый профессиональный менеджер Аврил, познакомился с ней, когда она пела кавер-песни в стиле кантри в книжном магазине Chapters в Кингстоне провинции Онтарио. Во время представления в театре «Lennox Community» Аврил была замечена Стивом Медом, местным исполнителем и автором песен кантри, который пригласил её петь в песне «Touch The Sky» («Коснуться неба») для его альбома 1999 года «Quinte Spirit». Впечатлённый её талантом, он пригласил её петь снова в «Temple Of Life» («Храм жизни») и «Two Rivers» («Две реки») для его следующего альбома, «My Window To You» («Моё окно к вам») 2000-го года.

Альбом 4 раза получил звание платиного меньше чем за шесть месяцев. Во всем мире было продано пятнадцать миллионов копий до декабря 2004.
В «Let Go» 4 сингла, и все они поражают. «Complicated» стал в номер один в Австралии, достигyв номера два в горячей сотни США. Песня «Sk8er Boi» достигла десятки лучших в США и Австралии, и номера один в Канаде. «I’m With You», достиг пятерки лучших в США. «Losing Grip» достигла номера один в Канаде, десятки лучших в Тайване, и двадцатки лучших в Чили.
