True chaos ensued Thursday at the Taste of Chaos tour stop in El Paso, Texas, resulting in 30 Seconds to Mars singer Jared Leto sustaining a broken nose and other injuries.
According to a spokesperson for the band's record label, Leto was injured when he ran into the crowd during "The Kill" and thousands of fans overpowered security and rushed toward him on the floor of County Coliseum.
Along with his nose, which was unintentionally broken, Leto suffered a foot injury and superficial injuries to his face and body.
Leto finished the show and even declared it one of the best of the tour, but eventually checked into a hospital to ensure that none of his injuries would require surgery. 30 Seconds to Mars are scheduled to perform Friday (March 2) in Dallas.
"I've been producing shows for 25 years and this was one of the scariest moments I have witnessed," Taste of Chaos organizer Kevin Lyman said in a statement. "We hope Jared's injuries are all minor and that he has a speedy recovery."
No fans were seriously injured in the melee, according to the band's spokesperson.

Jared said that he wanted to introduce someone very special that had been with them for a long time-he then went over to Matt and put his arm around him and intoduced him to the crowd.
He then said that Matt was going to be leaving the band and this was his very last show with them.
During the last song Jared went up to Matt and they put their heads together and hugged (it was actually very touching to watch).
After the last song everyone on strage gave Matt a hug(including Buck and the other roadies and tech guys) With one final bow with Jared at the front of the stage Matt waved goodbye.
This is just what I observed and after asking the guys(jared, tomo, shannon) in the signing line if matt was really leaving, all four of them looked pretty serious, and somewhat sad, and nodded their heads. I looked right at them one last time and said 'seriously?' and Shannon said yes...

After five wonderful years on the road with Thirty Seconds to Mars Matt Wachter has decided it is time spend more time with his family at home. We love and support him completely and accept his decision with respect and understanding. This is not an end, it is a new begining. There are times we all wish for things to stay the same but change is inevitable and we believe it must be embraced as a gift, not as anything else. There are only positive feelings between us all and we will always remember the wonderful contributions he has made to this project. We regret to inform you that 30 seconds to mars will not be playing tomorrow's TOC show in Sacramento (2/23). Jared went to the hospital this afternoon and against doctors orders played a show tonight in LA but unfortunately his health is dictating that we do not play tomorrow night's show in Sacramento. The band apologizes for this unforeseen circumstance, and promises to make it up to all of the fans. We are so sorry.

Jared Leto's rock group 30 Seconds To Mars has sparked rumors of a break-up after the actor-turned-singer expressed doubt the band will last through 2007. The four-man group has released two albums since their creation by Leto and brother Shannon in 1998, and their third and reportedly final LP is due late next year.
