M0ndschein (_) Eigentlich hätte Alice längst schlafen sollen, doch in dieser Nacht glaubte sie
eine Stimme ihren Namen rufen gehört zu haben. So stand sie also auf und wandelte barfuß durch das dunkle Haus ...

Sie fand sich vor einem bemerkenswerten Spiegel wieder, mit einem riesigen, zerschrammten Rahmen, der sich eindrucksvoll vor ihr in die Höhe reckte. In dem Mondlicht erinnerten seine Verzierungen an alte knorrige Finger, welche die Spiegelkanten zu umklammen schienen.

Jeden hätt' es wohl erschreckt,
Hätt' er wie sie in den Spiegel geblickt
Denn tief im Dunkel, wurd sie gewahr
einer blassen Gestalt, die sie starr ansah

Komm tanz mit mir in die Spiegelwelt
Komm tanz mit mir bis der Vorhang fällt
Es gibt keine Schatten in einer Welt ohne Licht
Komm tanz mit mir bis der Spiegel bricht!

Sie wollte sich abwenden, wegrennen, doch sie war wie gelähmt. Ihr Mund öffnete sich, doch die Kehle wie zugeschnürt drang kein Laut über ihre Lippen. Sie fühlte sich wie in einem Alptraum und ihre weit aufgerissenen Augen waren nicht in der Lage, sie wachzublinzeln.

Eine Stimme im Kopf, das Mondlicht im Haar
Vor Angst wie versteinert im Geiste sie war
Doch des Mädchens Körper, apathisch und stumm,
fing an sich zu drehen, herum und herum

Wieder und wieder, herum und herum!

Am Morgen wird man das Mädchen im ganzen Haus suchen, vergeblich nach ihr rufen. Denn in seinem Nachthemd, von Blut entsetzlich rot, wird man es schließlich inmitten von Spiegelscherben liegend finden - tot!
