Problem:

This is a 2019 Buick Enclave, Chinese model. The VXDIAG VCX NANO GM GDS2 software is unable to automatically detect the vehicle’s VIN. Manual selection still fails to recognize the VIN.

Any solution?

 

Solution:

The antivirus software must be turned off, otherwise the cracked software and device drivers will be deleted.

Most newer GM models manufactured by SAIC GM Motors should use RDS3 diagnostic software, including the new GL8.
It is recommended to use the VXDIAG VCX SE along with a 2TB hard drive HDD.

The RDS software is included in the hard drive.

Problem:

Connected the VXDIAG VCX SE JLR scanner via LAN cable. The device was detected by vx manager. But when running Pathfinder software, it gets stuck on this page. It will not communicate with the VCI interface. Any idea?

Solution:

This error indicates that the required Bosch VCI driver is not installed.

Install Bosch VCI Driver Installer (Bosch VCI software JLR 2.4.22.59 driver) in JLR-TopixInstaller folder.

Problem:

Unable to install VX Manager for VXDIAG VCX SE on Windows 10. The installation fails with Error Code 126 every time. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t resolve the problem.

Any solutions?

Solution:

After a TeamViewer diagnostic, vxdiagshop.com engineer discovered that the issue was caused by the Windows 10 Home edition, which lacks the necessary permissions to run VX Manager. To resolve this, please use a laptop with Windows 10 Pro (Professional Edition) instead.

Problem:

Using VXDIAG VCX SE BMW scanner and ISTA+ 4.39 software to diagnose a BMW X5 2011. Sometimes it can establish communication, but other times it fails. It cannot read VIN. If you input VIN manually, it keeps ongoing the backgroud process. How to fix it?

Solution:

First of all, select vehicle interface (device type) as Dealer organisation ICOM/ENET local area network.

Allow Ethernet as the preferred communication channel when connected via ICOM.

If still cannot read VIN, disconnect the VCX SE for 2 minutes.

Then connect the device and test again.

Customer question:
I’m using an SM2 Pro with several diagnostic solutions (CAN Clip 222v, Techstream, Honda HDS, FORScan), all working well. I’m planning to expand my diagnostic tool setup and need some advice before buying.

Now, I’m considering getting a VXDIAG VCX SE, but I have a few questions:

1. Software Compatibility: Can the VCX devices run the same range of software as the SM2 Pro (ODIS, Xentry, Techstream, CAN Clip, etc.) without requiring additional car licenses? Or do they still need online activation/credits?
2. Offline Use: For those who own a VCX, do most diagnostic solutions work fully offline, or are there restrictions?
3. Recommendation: Should I stick with the SM2 Pro (after firmware update) or invest in a VCX for better coverage?
4. Mercedes: Specifically for Xentry, does the VCX work better than SM2?

Here are our customers’ working experiences:

First of all, any VCX SE instead of VCX NANO because NANO only gets one license.

1. On base VCX SE you get J2534 capabilities, so you should be able to run ODIS, Xentry, Techstream, but the real advantages of the device are in the licenses, where you get the access to the drivers, that allow to use the VCX as VAS in ODIS, as DOIP C6 in XENTRY, as a normal sonde for CAN CLIP. They need online activation, and you need to get the licenses from VXDIAG. It is great because you get a lot from one tool, if you would be open to get multiple. SM2 only works as J2534 device, it does not work as emulator.

2. You need one time internet connection to get licenses you bought from VCX server via the Manager, then you can work mostly offline.

3. SM2 Pro (even the clone) is a great tool, but not every software supports passthru fully, for example Nissan Consult or GM GDS.

4. VXDIAG and SM2 both not work very well on -2005 older K-line Mercedes.  VCX is compatible with both Xentry XDOS and Xentry Passthru. SM2 pro only works with Xentry passthru version.

If you don’t want to invest in many tools, then VCX SE is a good choice.

Problem:

There is a problem with VXDIAG VCX SE device. No device in vx manager. No device detected in the computer device manager. Tried to connect via WiFi but failed. No WiFi connection.

Any idea?

Solution:

Insert the USB cable firmly into the USB port of the VCX SE (shown image below).

If not working, disconnect the VCX SE unit for 2 minutes, reconnect and try again.

If all fails, there is something wrong with the device hardware. You may need to send it back for repair.

I am using third-party BMW Rheingold ISTA+ software with a VXDIAG VCX SE BMW device, not the VXDIAG 2TB hard drive. What device type should I select in the vehicle interface settings?

Solution:

In this case, select the vehicle interface as “Dealer organization ICOM/ENET local area network“.

Hit “Yes” to accept Ethernet as the preferred communication channel when connected via ICOM.

Go to System Settings.

Select System-Diagnostics configuration for 911,981,918.970,Cayenne from 2011,Macan.

Change mode E (Engineering Mode), SAVE and exit.

Back to diagnostic interface.
Identify vehicle information.

Go to Coding Programming.

Select Manual coding without rules.
Select all options.

Hit F12 and continue.

System will read all coding data of the module.
Hit F10 to save coding data.

Select value and hit F12 to read value selected.

Then hit F12 to save.

Click F10 Logs- Working Logs.
Now you can see coding data was saved. You can edit the coding file name.

Remember where the file is saved. To view the coding file, open it using a web browser.

What is the difference between VXDIAG VCX FD GM and Topdon Rlink J2534 for GM?

In sum:

Both use their own driver management tool. Rlink only connects via USB type C, VXDIAG CAN FD also supports WiFi, WLAN and DoNET connection.

Both devices are compatible with GM GDS2, Tech2win, DPS, RDS and Techline Connect software.

VXDIAG uses patch solution for GDS2. You run software from patch without activation. Rlink does not use patch, so you either use original software or activate cracked software via keygen.

Problem: VXDIAG VCX SE Honda and HDS 3.105.012 software did not connect with a 2013 Honda Accord. Honda driver was installed and VCI was detected in vx manager.

It cannot access to vehicle and keeps on HDS initializing interface. Any solution?

Solution:

Disconnect VCX SE from vehicle, reconnect VCI after 2 minutes.

Then run Honda diagnostic software as Administrator. 

It should be fine.

Problem: Tried to scan a Mercedes E class W213 with VXDIAG VCX SE Benz scanner and 2025.03 Xentry. Diagnosis will not proceed. System reported an error authentication has failed and gave fault number C003.

How to fix it?

Solution:

Xentry 2025 C003 error indicates missing Zenzefi certificate.

Diagnosing newer Mercedes models, such as the W213, W206, W223,W465 etc, requires importing a Zenzefi certificate into the XENTRY software.

We do not provide certificates. If you have a Zenzefi certificate, you can import it into the software. For software purchased from us, if issues persist after importing the certificate, please contact our customer support for assistance.

Note: The replacement file method we previously released is only applicable to the 2022.12 version of the Xentry software. It does not work with other versions, especially the 2025 version.

Problem: One of our customers had a problem with VXDIAG VCX SE Benz and 2023.09 Xentry software. Xentry asks for user identification. How to do it?

Solution:

Enter the wrong page.

Run xentry Offline path from desktop, it will not ask for login password.

If the offline patch expired or is invalid, contact customer service for help.

If xentry asks for offline login password, enter user name: xentry and password:123456.

Question: When attempting to install the VXDIAG VCX SE BENZ C6 driver, the installation failed with the error message “The file check failed.” What is the solution?
