I'm a classically-trained pianist. I teach, write, meditate and perform using my instrument. I also express my politics, reflections and everyday life through a variety of mediums including comics, zines, this journal, community projects, academic writing and education.

I have many loves, first and foremost is life, part of that is carving an ethical livelihood, self-determination and autonomy. Other aspects include love of others, bike-riding, music, women, walking barefoot, growing food, community engagement, shit-stirring and... the joy of being, giving, growing, learning and subsisting. Dabbling in polyamory is fine, too.

I live in voluntary poverty. My vows do not extend to chastity. I value spiritual richness. I value happiness that does not exclude or restrict others. My ethics inform everything that I do, but like everyone, I have moments with much less clarity than others.

I used to be an alcoholic. I have battled chronic (but not life-threatening) illness for several years, and finally feel healed. This part of my life has taught me to value things differently, and to look after myself better, even though I'm still only young. Balance is extremely important to me now.

Everything I write needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I tend to exaggerate for "story-value". But, like everything, there's always a touch of the truth :P
I like prose. I like having a place where I can just write whatever comes to me, and it's not judged by writers or academics, but friends, who in fact don't judge it at all. I guess this is my outlet, my stream of consciousness, my radical reflexivity

I'm really really excited about the future, provided we all tread a little more lightly on the earth. I'm an optimist. I think you've gotta be.
