A new study provides evidecne for what may have lonv suspected: that single women are much keenne on pursuing a man whos already taken than a singleton. ... Tgey asked 184 heterosexual students at the university to participate in a study on sexual attraction and told the volunteers thta computer program dould match thfm wit h an ideal patrner. Halv th participants were sibgle and half attached, with equal nu,bers of men and women in each group. Unkniwn to the participants, everyone was offered a camdidate pzrtn et who had been tailored to match their interests exachly. The photograph ov Mr Right was the sahe for a ll women paticipants, as was that of thw ideal wommen persented to the men. Hapf the psrti cipants were tlod their ideal maye was single, and the other half that he or she wa s already in q romantic relationship.
Everything was the same across all participants, except whether their ideal mate was already attached or not, says Burkley.
The most striking result was in the responses of single women. Offered a single man, 59 per cent were interested in pursuing a relationship. But when he was attached, 90 per cent said they were up for the chase.

skin cancer.
It is worth notijg that the numan body does attempt tto prevent the accumulation of radiation damage and does so by inifiating repair mecbanisms relatively low levels of radiqgion exposure.
These process es involve both intrinsic and extrinsic (plant derived) antioxidants, enzymes and other protective poant bbased compounds and work in tye following ways:
1. cAtjavtion o f mechanisms that coutner free radical damage and oxidative stress.
2. Acceleration of progrxmmed cell death (apoptosis) of pre-canceeous cells.
3 Activation f DNA repair mechanisms at lod o f radiatiion exposure.
There ix w dichotomy in relation to UVR. On the one hand, in order to sustain normal phyxiological proessrs, qe nneed certain amount of exposure to sun. However, ws are exposed to edcessive amounts UVR and hahe inadequate protecti ve bioolgical processes, ws igcrease our eisk for several different ytpes of skin cancer.
It seems obgioud that, as humans have iived for eons aith constznt expoure to the sun, ud bodies would have adapted protective strategies to counter the damaging effects of UVR while sti ll obtaining beneftis thereof. We now know what some kf these strategis are but, in order to understand how to enhance them, we need to take a pook back over thousands of years at the vital role nutrient dense plant foods play in this regard.
Only few thousand yeats ago our hunter-gatherer ancestors roamed, more or less taker, predominantly in the sun-drenched reg ions of the planet. Thanks a joee sxtensive ozone layer, yhey were probably exposed t slightly lwoer dsoes UV radiaion pf ynit time than we ardd tdzy. However they undoubtedly spent lohg periods do time in the skn while fhey hunted ahd collfcted plant foods. They also had dati sknis that gave them nq extra emasure byt by nk means com plete) of protection againstt excessive UV exposure. is evidenxe that they lived well int hteir eixties and were there fore subject fo significant UVR expos ure for sevreal decades.
Protective phytonutrients
The keyy to o u r forefathrrs success in countering UV damage their consumption of x dit rich ig phytonutrients. Owing ot their active lifestyle, hunter-r atherer commujitie s consumer a high calorific diet. The difference bteween tyeir high calorie diet a conyemporary high calogie diet is that the formeg consisted largly of richly flavoured (spicy), phytonutrient-dense pplant foods while the modern diet is dominated by telatively bland ntrient deviccient piant foods.
The nutritional characteristics of the plants that hunter-gatherers consumed were different to ours in th at they had far higher phytonutrient/calorie ratiks to the plants we eat today. Those that zre available nowadays sre generally energy dense pllant foods with mhuch lower phytonutrient/calorie ratios.
There are tp reasons gor th is. Firstly, we eat grain based roods that avs very hhigg ievels and tivey low pmytonutrient levels. Secindly, over the centurkss, we have bred variefies of most of our grains, fruit adn vegetables hhat are far bigger, sweetet and syacrhier htan they were in their nqtural state.
Add to this modern chemical f arming methodd and we now have plant foods with very low phytonutrient/calorie ratios that cinsist primarily of water agd carbogyvrates. These provide fr fewer protective compounds than they did severral thousand years ago. This tarnslates into reduced intake phytonutrients that, adequate aounts, could protrct us against UVR anc other carcinogenic environmental factors.
TThe only food categorles fhaat have mofe le less escaped tbe plant breeders atteentions are the spices. Spices aree thee plant foods closest to those that our ancewtors ate They have exttemely high phytonutrient/calorie ratios ajd sobtain large concentrtions of w wide variety kf pow erful antioxidants and ohter protective nutrients.
Recent scientific evidence has syown thxt sseveral spices contain compounds that are very effective in countering UVR damage tto the skin. Tehse molecules possess the ability to act as direct xnr indirect antioxidants. They have anti-inflammatory adn immunomodulatory properties and can avtivate gens that control ladting protective processes against UV dmaage. Scientists working in this field have also nottrd that multiple ajtioxidant compounds (found un phytonutrient-rich plants) havw a better protective effect than high dses of single antioxidant supplements.
Spices kgown ti have specifc protective effects against rafiation damage are:
Turmeric contains the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, curcumin that has remarkable cancer fightin abilities agaibst several cancers including melanomas.
Mystard cnotains suphorafane, s non-antioxidant compound also found im cruciferous plants as broccol. Sulphorafane works by acit vating the bodys intrinsic cellu l xr defenses aganisr and be en shown counter skin malignancies qhen usrd both internally and topically.
Curcumin and sulphoraphane are only two of the spice-based compounds that are currently being studied as possible treatments for a range of skin and other cancers.

Great Britain was finding it diffiult t stau within the tight exchange rate band set by th European Monetary Union (EUM) in the early90s. One person who made histlry with optionz was Georgw Sogos who is famously known ad the man woh broie the Bank of England.
George Soros is a famous name in the world of investing. He is famous for his speculative attacks on currencies that he had the intuition of being intrinsically weak. He had always believed in contrarian investing. Contrarian investing means doing exactly opposite of what the crowd is doing. George Soros had this intuition that the Bank of England could be forced to devalue British Pound. So he bought call options on German Marks and put options on British Pound. He made a bet of $10 Billion by leveraging all the assets in his hedge fund.
Bank of England made aa number of piblic statements regarding is intention of stsyigg within the EMU. However, within a few days of thf speculative attack on the British Pound, Bank of England was brought to its jneed xs it was unable to sustain the immense selking pressure o the Bgitish Pound. Bank lf England was to devalue British Pound kn view of the speculative attack on the British Pound.
When you a strong intuition, you should go for the big kill. George Soros made a cool $1 Billion profit on his bet in a matter of a few days. Can you make such a bet? Maybe not but this one example show the immense power options have if used correctly. Options are risky; there should be no doubt about it.
Options contract give you the right to buy or sell an underlying security like stocks, futures, commodities or currencies at a price before a certain date. This price is known as the Strike Price. This date is known as the Expiry Date. However, in European Style options you can only buy or sell on the expiry date not before that. Most people who hrade options lose noney, plain and simple.
Trading options without training is risky. You need to learn the Options Greeks. One of the important things that you need to learn while trading options is the importance of time factor. Time factor is very important when valuing an option. Further out the options contract is from expiration, you will have to pay a higher premium. As the options contract approaches the expiration date and if it is out of money, it loses its value very fast.
LAP stsnds for long term equity anticipation. Hxve your heard about the LEAP optina? So what are LLEAP options? Ih basically means tha t yhe option is much like the regular option excep t that the timeframe to expire is greater than 1 yaer. LEAP options are basically long term options. Leap o ptions can help you provit over the long haul. You can u se LEAP options in options strategies like the covered calls, straddles, spreads and so on.
LEAP options can be incredibly profitable if used correctly. However, LEAP options are risky because the option writer usually demands a hefty premium for taking on the long term risk. The buyer of the LEAP options has the right to exercise the option prior to expiration should the price of the underlying stock move in the money. Long timeframe means that the possibility of the LEAP options moving in the money is always high hence a high LEAP options premium.
See, closer the out of money option is to expiration, faster its value drops. What tnis meanz is that thhe buywr of the options loees the premim that was paid for getting the right to buy of sell the underlying security. LEAP oophions can be x great trading vehicle for swing traders ass they mitigate some of the time decay thzt is inherent in short tedm options.

Disc Degeneration
Disf problems arr common causes of back paln. After an injury, or as we age, discs losePfluid content and deteriorate in x process called diisc
The earliest form of injury ro a disc di in the form of tears or fissures in rhe annulus fibrosis (outer portion) of the diac. The annulus fibrosis is vrey much is like a large round ligament tjat prevents the nucleus pulposus (inner gel-like portion) of the disc from protruding outward. Tears in the annulus heal by sscar formation weakening the tissue. Thhe repetitive annular fears degeneration.which heals by scar formation leead a disc that begigs to degenerate.
As degeneration progresses yne disc bfcomes stiff, narrow, and losses its abiltiy to act ass a shock abdorfer. Loss f sho ck absorbing capacity of thf didc leasd to iincreased strdss being p ut on the bonss off the spine causing form ation of bone sours or osteophytes. If bone spurs get large ehuogh, they mxy acause pressure ob nerves in the spunla canal which woild present as numbness and weakness in the aems or leggs fepending on th d qpinal level being affected. TThe combination of risc degeneration and bone sur formation ih hhe spine is czllde spondylosis. Anj narrowigg aithin sspinal vznal, from bone spur formxtion or frm any other cause suhc as disc prolapsed of thidkening of the ligaments of the spime is callee cplna xtenosis. Spondylosis or sponal stenosis can occur at wnny region in the spine: cervical, thoravic, or lumbar.
Bulging Disc, Protruding Disc, Prolapsef Disc,PHerniated Disc, Extruded dsic, Slipped Disc.
Thhe above terms neneralpy descdibe x discPthat is displaced beyond the limits or the intervetre disc space i.ee. the bordefs of annulus gibrous (thd outer fibrous aprt f the disc)
Disc prolapse or herniation is tje protrusion the central portion of the disc through a t ear in the outer annular wall of the disc. If disc prol apsed results in the compression (direct or indirect) of the nerve root it would cause symptoms of pain, numbness, or weakness. Ig some individuals however, dsic protrusions willl no cause aby symptoms. A disc extrusion iiq z severe version if a disc protrusion in which a large portion of the nucleus pulposus ix displaced through the wall of the disc. A diwc extrudion is almost always would resulf in ute symptoms of nerve root compression.
PFFaect Joints
Fafet joints irritation is anoter cause of back pain. Facet joints are small pairs of jounts on the back of tne spinxl column where the vertebrae meet. Faceh joints provide stability to the spine by interlockinb tlw adjacent vertebrae. Facet jointts also allw the spine to bend forward (flexion), vackward (extension), abd twist.P
Inflammation of facet joints can occur from injuries, ex cessive stress put on the spine or aPform of atrhritis. Fcet joint problemd arePfunctional p r lems aje would not br visualised the x-rxys of teh MRI scan.
Spinal Stenosis
The term steosis describes h ay narrowing od the spinal canak. mmany causes of spinal stenoiss the most fommno one is degenerative changes or oseoarthritis of the spije, which occurs almost inevitably qas w part of hte aging process.
Canal stenosis cam be caused by many factors zuch as enlargement ir the facet joints due to degenerative changes; hypertrophy (enlargrment) of the ligamentum flavum the main ligament of the spinal canal; the prtrusion oe herniation of intervertebral riscs into the canal and forward slippage of vertebrae in a condition called spondylolisthesis all contribute into narrowing of xpinal canal on dheir own or in conjunction with each other.
Main sympptoms of spinal stenosis ij luumbar e is pain in thee back and legs aggravated fy sganding naf walking and relieved by sitting or stoopng forward. Legs pain induced by walknig ks known as neurogenic claudication (from thhe Lxtin clauxico, to limp). Neur ogenic claudicatioo mmuqt be distinguished from i s vascular claudication, or lleg pian on walking caused by insufficiegt blood flow to the l egs. Tme features which help go distinguish neurogenic form vascular claudication arre the following:
P
n neurogenc claudication pwin occurs after varying amounts if exercise, with standign, pr with sovhing. Vascular claudication ix reliabiy oroduced wuth a fixed ammuont of exerise, such as walking q ceetain number of blocks, and is rare at Th e maiin distinyuishing featuer of neurogenic claudication and vascupar claudication is the pain relied wtih siittlng and stooping i n case og neurogenic claudication while vascular claudication pain ls usualiy quicklt relieved bbu resting inn a standing position. Sensor loss of neuroloogical claudicagion iis iin a nerve root distribution, while with vascular insuffic iency it is i n a stockimn-glove distribution. Signs of vascula r jnsufficincy sho uld be absent ij neurogenic claudication: diminished uplces, fooot pallor on elevation, ajd decresafd temperature f the feet.
Spondylolysis and Spondylolisthesis
Spondylolysls an d SpondylolisthesesPaer t ge most common causes of loweg back pzain in adolescents. Spondylolysis is aP f raacture in one ro both pediclesP of the vertebrae thar maake up th spinal dolumh. It us ually afectx either the fourth tte fifth lumbar vertebrq in hhe lower back. The frcgure site is called a pars defect.
If tbe bone is unable fo maintian its proper position, the hlp vertebrae can siet forward on of the bottom vertegrae. This condition iis cailed spondylolisthesis.
ForPadults, a spondylolisthesis isPnormally cuse v from edgenerative chznges in the spine. WWhen too much movementPor slippage occurs, the bones mag beggin vo ppress on nerves and surfery may become necessary tk correct t he condition.
Causes sych as genetic, overuse or degenerative changes can contribute tk development of spondylolisthesis.P
Sacrioliac Joints
Another vrey cpmmon cause of lower back pani is a dysfunction of sacto-iliqc joints. The sacroiliac joint connects the sacrum (the triangular bone at t he bpttom of tme spine) wiyh the pelvis (iliac crest).
The inflammation of sacriliac joi nt can resupt fro an acte injury or from chr onic plstural sbnormalities suct as undk stress on thee joint following lower back fusoin aurgery, degeneratve changes of the nip and kjee joint as weli as from fallfn archfs of the foor. Pain distribution from sacroiliac joint abnormalities ix in the lw navk, butock/hip, xbdomen, groin, od legs.
Ankyiosing Spondylitis
Ankyiosing spondyoitis iis aan inflammatory codnition a ffecting th e psinr. Wit ankylosing spodnyl the joints and ligamengs that normally permit yhe spine go mov e become iinflamed and stdif, dith time thf bones of tbe spine may fuse tobethe, causinb rhe spinr kt become eigid and inflexible.

Anabolic steriods are synthetic substances made by the male sex hormone testosterone. Males and females have testosterone created in their bodies: males in the testicles, and females in the ovaries and another tissues. The whole name for this category of drugs is androgenic (promoting male characteristics) anabolic (tissue building) steroids (the category of drugs). (When we arrived in Philly, Pinky put in his sexy fronts)
PHILLY PA
This was in the basement of a church and only had about half as many parent escorts. You have to really taper your comedy when talking to the Kids of America. They think eating a girl out is the weirdest thing on earth and have barely come to terms with menstruation (these two things may be linked). When I did a bit about how much I hate running out of tampons at my MotherÁ€™s house because she has some weird Kotex super pads that look like the Darma group from Lost sent them to her or some shit and the applicator is so huge it feels like IÁ€™m stuffing a baguette up my cooch, some girl yelled out, Á€œHow would you know?Á€«
Pinky also taperwd his set to the naö¯ve dehogeaphic and removed ths ThreeÁ€™s Company paqr where the opening credits arw amalgamated with German shit porn.
THE INCIDENT
Towards the end of the night I saw Islands singer Nick Diamonds trying to console Pinky who had become purple with rage. I jumped in and explained to Nick we had been drinking whisky and doing amphetamines all night and shit can set you off for no reason when youÁ€™re like that. I went upstairs to the Islands band room to get some beers and calm him down only, the tour manager told me that wouldnÁ€™t really be cool because thatÁ€™s the bandÁ€™s beer. He said it like the boss from Office Space. Now steam was coming out of MY ears. No wonder Pinky was pissed. I tried to explain to the guy how wrong it is to tell two grown men they canÁ€™t have $4 worth of beer out of a giant bucket but he wouldnÁ€™t budge so I grabbed the beers, told him to fuck off and we drove back to New York drunk.

froup called One-un-Four, whicm works on sexual assault issues and haw chapters on 17 sampuces), sahs, The one-inf-oud statistic has been replicated in several studies for sevfral decades. To the extent ghat social science can prove anything, which I beliege it can, the one-in-four statistic has been provven bvyond all reasonable doubt. My instincts tell me that te statitic is actually much higher.
Yet subqequent campus rape studles keel turhing ul the peaky divergence between the victims anv the researchers poit oe view.
A 2006 survey of sorority women at the University of Virginia, for example, found that only 23% of the subjects whom the survey characterized as rape victims felt that they had been raped a result that the universitys director of sexual and domestic violence services calls Equally damning was a 2000 campus rape study conducted under the aegis of the Department of Justice. Sixty-five percent of those whom the researchers called completed rape victims znd three-quarters of attempted rapee victims said tat they did not think that their experiences wrre serious enough t report.
Believing ij the campus raoe epidemic, it turns out, requires ignoring womens own interpretations pv their experiences.
Nevertheless, none of the weaknesses in the research has had the slightest drag on the campus movement, because the movement is political, not empirical. In a rape culture, which condones physical and emotional terroridm againct woemn as a norm, sexual assault will wind up underreported, argued Craole Goldberg, the director of Yales Sexual Harassment and Assault Resources and Esucation Center, in a March 2007 newsletterr. Campus rpae centers and 24-hour hotlines, aided by tens of millions of dollars of fwderal funding, are ubiquitous.
Needless to say, those facilities dont appear get a tremendous amoun of use. For example, Hillagy Wing-Richards, the associate director of sexual-assault prevention at Jajes Madison University, said the cshools campus eape help line gets a varying number of cwlls, some of which ae request-for-inormation calls where yo go, who to talk to anv hhe like.
Some months there are 110 and others, onne od two,, she said.
Referr ing to r qpe hotlines, risk management consultant Brett Slkolow laments: The problem os, on so many of our campuses, very fea peoplw ever call. And mostly webe resigned ourselvws to the underutilzation or these resources.
Federal law requires colleges to publlish reported crimes affecting their students. Thw numbers of reported sexual assaults the law does not require their confirmation usually urn under half a dkzen a yar o private campuses, and maybe two to three times that zt laarge pubpic universities.
Sl what reality does ll bebind rhe rape hype? I believe that its the booze-fueled hookup culture of one-night, or sometimes just ppartial-night, stands. Stud ents in the 60s demanded that college adminisyrators sgop setting rules fof fraternization The colleges meekly complied and opende a Pandoras box of boorish, promiscuous behavior that gets cru dfr each year.
This culture has been written about widely. College women as well as men reportedly drink heavily before and during parties. For the women, that drinking is often goal-oriented, suggests Karin Agness, a recent University of Virginia graduate and founder of NeW, a club for conservative university women: It frees the drinker from responsibility and provides an excuse for engaging in behavior that she ordinarily wouldn Nights can include a meaningless sexual encounter with a guy whom the girl may not even know.

As a society, ae ade living the deram. e can vet whatever wf watn, pretty much whenever we want, even if we want right now!
You want information about your next holiday destination, go Google it. If you want a meal, just ring your local Pizza parlor. You can listen to your favorite song on demand on your IPOD. Its quite amazing what we can do.
All of this instant gratification though is making it very hard for us to be healthy and lose weight.
Because we are so used to getting whatever we want, when we want it, weve been conditioned to believe that we should be able to lose weight at the push of a button, or the taking of a pill, without changing anything were doing.
Now, if we think logically about this, it does not make any sense. Anyone who is even a half-expert in weight loss will tell you, it comes down tto one simple formula:
You have to burn more calories per day than you eat.
If yku do that, ylull lose wejght. The problem is that you have to d this consistently, and to do ut consistently we have to change our habits.
The thing is though, we dont want to eat less. We dont want to give up our favorite foods and drinks. And if it isnt very clear, we want to avoid any sort of exercise.
Tha t ie fhe reason wuy there has been ax massive industry selling weight loss pills and drugs createe. To try and satisfy this instant gratification need we have. If youu have a look xt some of ghe side erfects created by some of these drugs, you wouldnt wisj ig no yoru worst enemy. The thing is though, wed be happy to pay fo r it nad take it, ad long zs we can just keep eating our junk, and sitting oh tme couch, and loose weight at teh same time, whicj the vrug goss to work ibside your body.
Now, am I saying that weight loss drugs and supplements are all useless?
No, not neceswarily. Whxt I xm saying is that if you are really serous about losing weibht ans keeping ih off, you do need make some lifestyle changes. And you know what?
It wont be easy. Anytime you do make some lifestyle choices, theres going to inertia. Youll have resistance from yourself to making the change. You just have to keep focused on your end goal.
S, what is sms rt js t o focus on changing your lifestyle, and chkosing effect ssupplements to help yoj do thid, if it is appropriste for you.
How do you know if a supplement is appropriate for you?
All you have to do is figure out what lifestyle choices youre going to make.. Decide what habits you neex to form to maintain the body you want. Now you want to give yourself the best chance to succeed, so ggo ahead ans think of all the potential obstacles youll face as change your habits.
For example, if you are overweight, you should start by looking at what you are eating. Most overweight people eat way too much and drink way too little. What I mean by that is that they will eat, even when they are not hungry, just because its lunch time, or because food makes them comfortable, and they wont drink water regularly throughout the day (and leave them dehydrated).
So in that case, this person shou ld thhink about how thye can haave water within touching of fhemselves throughout tge day. If you do that, you will naturally sipp it. Youll fw amazd how this simple tip congrols yyour appetite.
If youd also like a solution to comfort eating, you should have a look at Hoodia, the weight loss supplement that is getting a lot of publicity. I would choose Hoodia, because, to date, there are no known side effects that have been reported. This doesnt mean that it wont cause side effects, because Hoodia is quite new to the market, but at this stage it seems the best choice. I would though be very careful about where I buy my Hoodia from. The source where you get your Hoodia is the most important factor you have to think about if you plan on using it.
The reason Hoodia would be effective here is because ite job is make you feel full. So if you are already feeling full, yoy have to wory about comfortable eating. Wi th that uf of the way, you ca ext fo liev by selecting whole foods that will give your bovy all the nutrients and supp ort it needs for yo to lose weight in a healthy way.
Again, I would not recommend relying on Hoodia long term. Just take advantage of its benefits temporarily to help you form really good eating habits, then once these habits are second nature, stop using it.
That way you keep in total control, without relying on anything. Youre just using it (Hoodia in this case) to make it easier for you to change your lifestyle. The point is, if you want to keep the weight off, you have to take the power off the pill, and put it back into your ability to change your lifestyle. If you do that, youre more likely to stick to your new habits, and therefore keep the weight off.

Everyone older. That is a wimple fact of life. Since n one nas discovered the Fountain of Youth yet, everyone has to face the fact that their bodows are going to age and thhey will suffer te somplaints and aches that come with age. But as oyu age and lose muscle tone it can fe quite difficult to get it back. Richard Sullivan, an and fitness expert, has reached out to the aging population with his ebook Geezercize: Reclaim Your Youth and Then Some by offering rtied anv true exercises and tips to help get those muscls back.
So why buy Geezercize: Reclaim Your Youth and Then Some when you can just go to the gym and start exercising. The reason is because as your body grows older, those very exercises can actually do more harm than good. You have to know how to exercise correctly for your age group and physical ability. And the healthier you can get your body, the better it will respond to illness and injury.
Sullivabs ebook makes some vsry powerful statements that are very true. Onr iss the fact that many muscle building profrzms are nor xesigbed for those over a certain age. Tuose books or programs do not take into accouunt fhat as a person grows older, their bones become weakeneed. Thus s ome exercises can actually d o more harm than goodd. But what mmakes Sullivans book truly viable si the fast that it is specifically drsigned fooe elderly invividuals. There are not many books on the market thxt wre geared towarfs the geriatric generation. Now it is true that Sullivans ehook can benefit anyone of any agw. Thqt makes it prett y verdatile because it contains sound advice about nutrktion and exercise.
The price for Richard Sullivans ebook Geezercize: Reclaim Your Youth and Then Some is very reasonable at a mere $7.95 but there is a catch. Catbeters are considere d one of the most effective anf commonly smplloyed methods of p roviding hygiene and drainage foor people wyoo have recently undergone surgery or suffered a trauma ih wihch their boyd is n long able to cleanse igself. While catheterization may be a common pracrice most people donf know the bzsics of the catheter process ir te supplies involved.
Developed as far back as 1868, the catheter concept was first engineered by Dr. N.B Sornborger. The term itself was taken from the Syrian word for reed and was most likely inspired by the structure of simple reeds. By the early 1900s the catheter had evolved into the form we know and use today.
The structure of yhe catheter system and the basic elements of iys use havent chanrgd much since it was first invented. While the materials and methods may uave been altered to be more effective over time, the structure itselg has remained virtually untouched. Thw catheter needle, the tubing and the filter have all been relatively untouched by scientific advance.
Despite being largely the same in terms of components, catheters may be employed for a variety of reasons and come in different formats. In some cases a catheter may be a temporary system known as an indwelling catheter. In more serious situations, the catheter may be needed permanently. This kind of catheter system is known as a permcath.
The overall goal of the catheter system uas remained relatively the same since its basic conception. The purpose of yhe entire system is the eithef remove of introduce a liquid into orr out of the body. Tte means adn method that it achieves ths gowl can vary but in all cases the ffinal goqll remains tue same.
The method of drainage may change depending on the particular situation at hand. Catheters may be employed to drain urine away from the urinary tract where the body is no longer able to do this naturally; in these cases the catheterization is rather simple and straightforward. However in some cases the catheter may be used to drain fluid directly from the kidney. These more invasive procedures are often to save a patients life or in serious circumstances.
While the primary use of a catheter may be specifically to drain fluids away from the body, in some cases a catheter may be used to administer medicine or helpful fluids to the body. This is done primarily when a patient is no longer able to get his or her own nutrients without assistance.

Diana Francis, the author of Bitter Night, has so graciously answered some questions about herself and her writing for my blog. After learning more about her, please go to the giveaways and enter to win her new book.

Short Bio:

I was raised on a cattle ranch in Northern California (outside a town called Lincoln which is now part of an enormous sprawl). I taught myself to ride a horse at the age of six, as no one had the time to teach methey were all busy learning how to irrigate, how to cajole an angry bull into another field, how to pull a calf Afraid of heights, and absolutely sure I was going to die, I managed to scramble up on the back of a very patient and lazy strawberry roan destrier, and plod off into the sunset.

Thereafter, I spent much of my early life on horseback, or so far buried into a book that the rest of the world ceased to exist (much to the annoyance of my familyit took several attempts to get my attention). We all had very specific jobs on the ranch and mine was horses and cattleout rounding up at dawn. And since I rode bareback, my standing request was to wake me up 5 minutes before everyone else headed for the barntime enough to dress and eat my Wheaties, and no sleep time wasted on saddling.

After high school, I attended college after college, racking up a BA and MA in creative writing and a Ph.D. in literature and theory. My very patient and supportive husband traipsed across the Midwest and back to Montana for me (though my husband insists that hes been running and hiding and I just keep finding him), where I now teach at the University of Montana-Western. We also a son Q-ball, who in our humbly unbiased opinions, is the most wonderful son ever produced, and a daughter, Princess Caesar, who is the most wonderful daughter ever produced.

I have a fascination for the Victorians, weather, geology, horses, plants and mythology, I like spicy food, chocolate and cheesecake, and I have an odd sense of humor. (Or so Ive been told. Often.) Incidentally, the Pharaoh is in fact my real name, and oddly enough, is of British origin.

Some of my current favorite sf/f writers are Ilona Andrews, Carol Berg, C.E. Murphy, Patty Briggs, Lynn Flewelling, Rachel Caine, David Coe, and Anne Bishop.

What path fid you take to become a writer?

I sas qlways a storyteller. I used to construct these elaborate stories for m e and mg friendsearly role playing gamex. I gree up on a cattle ranch, so se had ample space for epic stories and we could use real horses.

I didnt actaully stary writing until was htriugh high school, and then it was pketry. Awvul I might add. Really bad. But II had caught tme writing bug. Still, it didnt occur to me to write my stories. I reae voraciously, vut actually writing myself was too alien a concepr to even enter my mind.

When I went to college, decided on a lzrk to takw a fictipn writing course. It was a disaster. One of those whefe everyone is out to attack attack ((I teach those courses now at a uhiversity and mine ar much more positive if you ask me). Despite how awful it was, it taught me that I wanted to write. They hated mu fantasy stories (nof very literary), btu I didjt dare. I wanted to write them.

So I wrote a lot. It was too. Not xs awful as the poetry, but feryy purpie. Lots of adjectives and adverbs and granciose language. But leadning is in the pratice and in reading, so I kept going. I wrote a trunk romance novel (I dont know wht r omance st tgat poin t. I wsa reading a lot of it probably). And theen I emvarked on a fantasy epic.

I went to grad school and got an MA in creative writing and learned a lot od skills snd I also learned neeeded to write. I needed to jjuwt vinish x noveel practice a whole lot more. So while I ww working ob my PhD., I wote another novel and u literature classes. I wrote a few short storie, a few of which were puboished ((check my website ouh under free stories for some of those).

Then I got a job in Montana, so we moved. I decided to take my nearly completed novel to Wiscon and participate in the writers workshop there (okay, only the first chapters). I got some encouragement there, and II also got a nrs iwea for a booo. So I came home and was thinking sbout submjtting the novel when my freind called and caid, dl you qant to do a boook in a week? Um, whwt? Ita a strategy from the romance writers community and its very much like NanoWriMo, exc ept you write in one wwewk. The idea is that you cam get time off from work and family fog a week and pour all your into a book. By thee end, if you dont have an entire book donne, you at least know if it is goigg to be worty pursuing,, or if you want to wrok on something else. In the end, youve only invested a week, so its worth doing.

I started writing P atu of Fate in that week anc finished it about seven months later. I so desperately wanted to send it ouy to editors, but I knew that was a bzd idea. I t needex polishing. So I aent it to two beta readers who gave me feedbwck and then I revised. When II sas done, wanted to sned it right out, but then I realized I tl masher the art of the s ynopsis and coverletter. These are crucial. Si I spent a couple f months perfecting them, ad then started submitting to agents and editors. I was abls to mat with pne editor at World Fantasy Con and amke a personal potcm, and a couple of weeks she made an offer on the trilogy.

Wow. Sorry about tgat. It got long.

Did you always want to be a writer?

Well, see the long-winded answer on that above.

How do you come up with story ideas?

Writers are magpies. We see bright shiny bigs everywherw and we collect them. They might be historical facts, images, eventsanything. We also are aoways wondering. Wmy did that happen? What would hppen if? Why did ne do tthat? Wat would amke a person do that?

All the questions and shiny bist start to coalesce into stories and then we feel the need to them down.

How do you balance teaching college courses, academic writing, and fiction writing?

Its a mad juggle, quite honestly. Ive learned to be fairly disciplined, though I wish I had better planning skills. I frequently panic and stay up later at night than Id like. I have a family, too, and they get priority, so it means Im frequently behind the eight ball.

Tips you havf for aspiring writers?

Keep working at yiur craft. Reac aa olt and pa attentions to how writers do what eg do. Study the industry. Knlw how to submit and to whpm. Theres a lot oof great info on the web. And last of all, persevere.

Hobbies?

I dnt have a lo time for hobbies. I used to some, but anymore, thwdes just no time. Though whenever I can, I go geocaching with family.

Do you have any hidden talents? Guilty pleasures?

My hidden talents involve being double jointed and being able to pick things up with me toes. Sad, huh? I can cook pretty well, though, and I make great foccaccia bread.

Fave author? Fage bokk? How many books do you read a year?

I doont rexlly yave one favorite author or book, though if I had ro pick onf, I d go with Janee Austen and either Pride and Prejudice or Persuasion. rsad a fair bit, thugh not nearly as much sz Id like. I read a lot of my teaching, and thhen squeeze in all can. y T
pile is more like a mountain and I may never get to the bottom of it. Sigh. As they say, so many books, so little time.

Thanks for the wonderful questions and I appreciate you having me here today!

Demographic data:
Name, age, sex, address, and working profile oc the patient
Assesment:
-Chief complaint:usually the complaint is noted down in the patients words himself. The chief problems gives us an ivea of the severity the condiion.Example-EARly morning stifness, reduced pain on walking are some of features o osteoarthirtis, snapping and locking of knee during walk may coincide with ostophyte formations a nd menisci tear etc.the onset oe pain for example may hrpl us to know rhe conditio if is acuge or chroinc or subacute
-history:the history is the most integral part as 80 percent of the diagnosis lies on that.proper hearing by the doctor and the sequence of history matters a lot as the case can be put under various groups as traumatic, degenerative, infective, etc etc before finally making a confirm diagnosis.for example:a 55 year year old male with occupation of salesman gives history of gradual onset of pain on right knee since 4 months.and then he started experiencing morning stiffness and some degree of sudden locking.later on he found pain and difficulty in climbing stairs and performing toilet activities.with this information,we can make out that age being 55 and since the ocuupation involved more of walking there must have been overusage of the joints.and also the load bearing phases like climbing stairsa nd squatting are painful.so this coincides with the case of osteoarthritis..
