Do you have a lot of kids? Do you have a lot of books? Do your kids like to leave books lying all over your house? Or does your two year old like to pull books off the shelf, just to hear the noise they make when they crash to the floor?
I do. And I don't have a good way to deal with any of it. So, when I saw these pictures of books organized well and in eye-pleasing ways, I got excited. I need help.
Fabulous! They can easily see the books and I love the idea of taking a spare corner somewhere and turning it into a bookshelf.
The first time I saw this nursery, I geeked out. All those books! All those shelves! The stripes on the ceiling are delicious. (Let's get this out of the way, though. That ottoman looks like someone murdered the entire cast of The Muppets and turned them into a cube. No likey.)
Then someone mentioned that their kid would scale those shelves like it was their own personal rock wall, and so that spoiled it a bit. I could definitely see Kitty perched on the top shelf and gleefully flinging books down on my head. Still... those shelves. I wish I could quit them.
And this is not book related in any way, but I do find myself similarly overwhelmed with finger paintings and various artwork:
I need these. And they wouldn't be hard at all to make on my own. I am adding it to my To Do List.
How do you organize your books and artwork? Right now, I mostly sneak all their art into the recycling bin when they are asleep. I'm a good mom.
