On rare occasions I receive a notecard from a store, read it and look at the pictures and just have to drop everything I’m doing to TP there and get that outfit *now*. Neta Janus managed to do that with her new League release, Steampunk Apocalypse. I bought it and love it

Included in the set is the black vest (undershirt and shirt layer), a corset (jacket layer), skirt and skirt pants, and ropes around the waist, arm and leg. The Astrolabe arm-belt has a rotating dial. I never heard of an astrolabe before but it turned out to be a very ancient astronomical computer for solving problems relating to time and the position of the Sun and stars in the sky…in case you’re wondering. The amount of detail in the set is amazing, as you can prolly see on the astrolabe pic I posted below.

Teagan Blackthorne (SYD Style Your Destiny), one of our generous designers, dropped me her dollarbies Mei Rainbow Calligraphy Dress as well as her Black Ballet Flats. Both items are available in her store (I think, the ballet flats are a FabFree group gift too … not sure). Ballet Flats I love in any case, and a black pair is great ! They goes with any skirt or pants … but best with the rainbow colored and funny “calligraphed” Kanti Dress. Thanks, Teagan!

Quickie: Wearing SYD`s Black Ballet Flats and her Mei Rainbow Calligraphy Dress I deciced to check out the Relay For Life Teddybear Hunt at AFO (again Teagan Blackthorne pointed this hunt out to us, thanks!).

There are 32 small teddy bears in white and pink scattered over the mall. Mama Bear is missing her children, so tp over and lend a helping hand! If you find a tiny teddy, click on it and buy it for 0 Linden. There are great items like hair and clothes to get. As usual I was in a hurry (sooo many hunts!) and I didn´t have time enough to found all teddies but I catched a few. And not to forget, also there are RFL vendors. I bought myself a cute Itty Bitty RFL teddiy (pink & white - 50 Linden, the pink one is sitting on my shoulder). Well, I found Blue Corset+Undies by Asri Falcone, Brown Linen Dress Top+Glitch Pants as well as a Blue Nina Coat by DawnShop. Further from GG`s Boutique a Black Tank Top (4 options to wear it), Bryan`s Luna Pants and Black+Brown Pants. The crazy hair Toxic Caramel comes from A&K Design.

This hunt is a 2 days event (not sure if it ends today!), so if you can spare some time, head over to the Relay For Life Teddy Bear Hunt at AFO and grab your teddies with amazing goodies from great designers before they are gone! I'm back! And here's the real thing, the real place I went to. (Yes, a lot like paradise)

I’m back from vacation and just in time for bambi63 Rehula of The Closet to release a whole bunch of new items including dresses, skirt separates, belts and blouses. Each release is Southwestern inspired - and great for spring.

Starting with the “Concho” belts that come in black, white and brown (black and white shown here). They’re mod so you can fit them, although I didn’t need to do too much.

Then there’s the “Mexican” blouses, with bell sleeves and sculpted hem frill. They come in numerous colors, but I picked a few of my favorites below. All the prims are mod for any sizing you need to do.

Before I show more of the clothes, the eyes I’m wearing are from Sin Skins - and they’re new favorites. You get 9 pairs in each color pack (although I believe you can buy the size/color you prefer in singles as well) - light, medium and dark in three sizes. Shown below are light teal small, medium teal medium, and dark teal large as an example. Keep in mind that all Sin Skins are now deeply discounted as well!

Wow! Wings are everywhere this weekend; how exciting! I love that people are taking an opportunity to explore their fae/butterfly/angel/demon/bird/insert-mythical-creature-here sides. I’m going to take this week to completely immerse myself in the wing mania going on and photograph some of my old favorites and new finds. I am sure I can talk some friends into indulging in the fantasy with me.

Hud controlled, the size is adjustable – this is “xtra large” and they go all the way down to micro size. I picked up this Peacock Goddess Lingerie from LoveLace just the other day and when I spied the Fancy Fairy’s Goblin Wings in Green at WingFling I flung off what I was wearing put on the lingerie and the wings. I went searching for a place to shoot with a frantic “Must find place to shoot right now!” urgency. I thought of how peacocks are often seen roaming around big estate gardens. I found Camelot Gardens, how perfect!

The Lorelle Fairy Butterfly Wings from Material Squirrel debuted this weekend at WingFling; the texture is just…ahhh /me drools… these are my new favorite wings, I think, for right now. That might change tomorrow. Material Squirrel wings are also hud controlled, allowing you to change wing size and span, flapping, landing settings and more. You can also flutter, droop and embrace on command.

Everyone that I know has been fishing lately. Hethr Engle even made a special outfit just for the sport! It was very practical, with a hat to protect her avatar from the sun (skins are expensive! Shouldn't burn them!), and cargo shorts to stow her bait. I went fishing early this morning on the new dock that Jessica Ornitz built at ~silent sparrow~, mostly for the sake of, um, wearing new boots.

The theme of today's post is "fishing in white/pastel boots." Yes, I understand that I'm a nutcase. I think pastel boots are excellent for fishing because the fish will see cute bright things above the water and naturally want to investigate. The pink Oi boots are especially good for fishing (I'm blogging the RFL boots a tad late :D ) because they're vivid! ...Do you sense that I know nothing about fishing? Luckily, Second Life can fish for me!

A ladies and men’s matching for the weekend with a little goth, old world and fantasy mixed together. It’s a revolution. Both ladies and men’s come with the pants, top, vest and sculpted cuffs. The ladies cuffs have lace flex and I cropped the top to give it a more feminine feel. The vest and top can be worn alone or together in both versions and as always the ladies pants come as undies as well for boot wear.

I don't know about you, but when I'm grading papers I like to hop into Second Life as a drow and go hunting. In my case, hunting means that I put on a nice frock and visit Kin hair. Interestingly enough, when I got to Kin, Jenilicious and Misty had had exactly the same idea! We had a small meeting of drow minds that went something like this.

"Hey -- more drow!"

"Yeah. Gotta love Kin hair."

"I need it all!"

*cough* -- you know, the usual dangerous stuff that drow talk about when they go on small hunting expeditions.



The outfit, in this case, is from Lavish Style. This is the first of their outfits that I own, and I'm impressed by the carefully designed quality of their prims as well as the hand-crafted fabric. In fact, I think another little hunting expedition is in order.

I realized when I ran into Misty and Jenilicious that for a drow, I sure do wear a lot of clothing. I've clearly got to work on this.
