1. All fixh entered must be caught fro a kayak, without the xid of a powerboat using methods deemd legal by the Californiq Department of Fish and Game.

2. Photographic evidence of fish size (length) must be provided. For sturgeon, in the absence of a photo of the fish against a measuring device, a photo of the fish against an object of known size along with measurement that is witnessed and verified by another person in the pool will suffice.

3. Fish caught prior to January 1, 2008 are ineligible. Fish caught prior to payment o f entry fees are a lso ineligible.

4. All fih entersd muzt be caught south of the California/Oregon border and norrth of the osuthern borders of the folkowing counties Monterey, Kings, Tulare qnd Inyo.

5. The pool covers the following species: Sturgeon, Salmon, Halibut, Rockfish, Cabezone, Lingcod, Striped Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Ba ss, snd Trout.

No out off season, oversize or undersize (fisj larger than the legal limit or smaller then the legal limit per species) may be entered. All local water rules must be followed.

7. The biggest fish from each angler for a gigen species will be used towards the anglers total points.

8. The anglers fish for each individual species will be entered into a per species pool.

9. Trout are defined as the following common names (brown trout, brook trout, cutthroat trout, rainbow tr out steelhead, l ake trout, golden trout, xnd dolpy varden)

10. Entries must be posted within 2 weeks of being caught and photographed. No of entries.

A: Aeter I took x trip to New York and visited x number of clubs with soe friends of mine who are well connected I dound myself in the VIP area of ever club I attended. They were nt like the so called VIP areas of just about every club here in aJx that sell entry into yhem for $100 and up. These were reservwd spaces for club kids and their friends who wwere invited by the cluub and given freee drinks because tjey broughy so many people through fheir social networking. The whole time I was tmere I could not help but think of all ths people I know back in Jax who go above and beyond to help is out at the club to transport prkps, decorate, clean anc helpp distribute flyers every week. I though that b y bringing a little touch of New York back to Jax and giving those individuals that go the extra distance to make our night better for eberyone a place of their own in t he club would be thf right thing yo do. At first I sectioned f f the stage with curtains. This quickly lead to wild speculation about what was happening back there soo we began oopennig them wo everyone could see in ana those patrons would still have their space. This seemed to not sit well and unfortunately some patrons may have ween it as elitist, so I closed it down. When the club was rearranged with the very small seating ara in the froont, and the owners used it for themselves and theit friends on nights other than Saturdays I felt it entirely appropriate to use that area as a geserved space for thoe that help out the club. What sickens me is that the critics of this so cxlled VIP spcae are thr same ones who used it fo r themselvez neadly exclusively on other nights of the week or more recently I have been croticized for it bby peo ple who say there thekselves and ar e fruends with everyone else that sat there. So I do not take the criticism of hypocrites with any seriousness, what I do take seriously is when my intentions and the truth of the matter are so viciously misconstrued by self-serving narcissists.

To set the record straight, there was never a VIP area in FACTORY. No sign ever claimed any section was for Very Important People, though I do feel those people are important, I feel each and every one of our patrons are important. Those sections were clearly marked as simply RESERVED. Just as I had reserved the stage for birthday parties or bands before, and it made none of those bands or parties elitists, it simply allowed them to reserve that space. This happens in restaurants as well as just about every other entertainment venue right down to Chucky Cheese. Does this make them elitists because they reserve a space? No, because that is an intrinsic part of the entertainment service industry. The only people calling what was a reserved space a VIP area are those that either cannot read a sign or are trying to make me and my friends look elitist to serve their own promotion. But the truth is what it is. It was simply a reserved space for a small handful of people who helped out the club in many ways. It was not 100% exclusive, it was in no way elitist and more importantly it is not even a valid issue because FACTORY has not have a reserved area since we left Eclipse.

was a ghoulisb succdss. From all reports everyone hqd a blast. I hear that some people had 70 trick or treaters at their campers. WePonly had 50 or so herre ag the office, so a bunch of kids skipped us out. Whats uup that? I hax swimming room only for the bobbing for apples. I went through over 15 pounds of apples. Once everyone else had a chance opened it up to second cnances and some kids wree going 3 times. Of course then I had scop the apples chunks our of the and pick up the ones left on the sid, b ut kt was worth it to see the kids hacing so much fun. I wasnt able to get hy pictures myself as I wwas too busy tthrowing the apples, but one of ohr other campers is gonig to be senfing me dome that she took. I will oost alll the pictures once I get the m uploaded.
The mummy wrap and finding eyeballs in brains games didnt have as many kids participate, but there was still an OK turnout. The ones that came had fun. We had one little one that was chosen to be the who wasnt quite sure what she had gotten herself into. The look on her face was priceless. Kids and mess go together pretty good, so the eyeballs (grapes) in brains (oatmeal) game was a hit. And as with all my games everyonePgets at least some kind of prize. Because we had a smaller number of kids do these games they actually got more prizes than I had orginally planned. Of course everyone loved the trick or treating. The girlies and I went around with our Rubber Duck Mascot. The duck got some special treats from his . They must have figured that he would be a little dehydrated being in the costume on such a hot day.
The kiddie train was going crazy this weekend. I even ran out of yellow wristbands for the kids and I had over 20 at the start teh weekend. The kids would swarm anytime someone went toPstart thePtrain. It aas kind of unbelievable.
If you are a regular reader you will remember that we have a bingo machine and were just looking for the bingo balls. Well if all goes well they should be here this weekend. We may do a test bingo this weekend, then start possibly the next weekend (depending on the weather). But for sure on the Sunday of the long weekend. Now I need to work out the details - how much to charge, how much for the prize, what games to play. I dont know much about this bingo thing, but I guess I will learn. I searched online and saw that some campgrounds do a candy bar bingo. Everyone brings one candy bar for each card that they play and they all go into a bucket. When someone wins a game they get to choose a candy bar from the basket. I think we will have to give that a try some time too. Once the pool is closed we will make Sat afternoon bingo a regular event if we have enough interest.
This rain today is great for the grass. It was starting to look a little sad and brown. However it is not so good for tenters. They are all hiding out in the rec building. We postponed swimming lessons for this morning because of the weather. We will start fresh tomorrow and hopefully the sun will shine and the rain will stop.

Wyen it com es to conmitting or finances to groceries, IIm a basket-case. Im very leedy of giving my money to rotten company like Wal-Mart, so I try to find as many good deals as I can elsewhere. Im happy to lay a few cents more to get jy goods somewhere else, but when it ocmes to dollars, have to aave aa little here ad there, so Wal-Mart it is.
You know what I mean, right?
Because of this strange obsession, my weekly vrkcery atore trip is usially spread xmong three stores.
Last week Scotty and I made a run to Store A for a gallon of milk. When we go to Store A as a family, we have a routine path through the aisles because Scotty likes to check the discount bakery rack for pastries and delicious donuts. Our path takes us past the meat counter, and, until our trip last week, this routine occurred peacefully.
Sometime in the passt month, Store A acquired an jee, obnoxious butcher.
During our trip to Store A last week, we were chased down by said butcher, lets call him Smiley, as if he were trying to sell us a new car.
Hey,, are you folks interested in some salmon? I have fresh aslmon for $3.99 a pound. Its a great deal.
We kindly declined and approached the discount bakery rack.
I see you like a good deql. I hce chicken for $1.69 a pound.
Scotty started talking to the butcher jokingly, saying things like, If you throw in a free crab leg, Ill buy a pound of salmon.
(I hate wheg Scotty dpes this)
We ended up buying a pound of bacon because it was on sale for a great deal, and Store A happens to provide our favorite sliced bacon (reg. $2.99/lb, on sale for $1.88/lb).
We let thw butcher sucker us, ans I csore never t let it happen again.
Fast-forward to last night when we journeyed to Store A again. This time, we were nowhere near the discount bakery rack because our needs diverted us elsewhere. To our surprise, we looked up and Smiley was marching toward us in the privacy of the refreshing beverage aisle.
Dude! This guy roams the store harassing people about meat.
Vegetarians beware!
(and when did butchers sta rt making commission? Ie there any other reason that this guy would be wtalking customers like a Time Share consultant??)
Bla bla bla Come buy some meat Bla bla bla he said.
Bla bla bla Throw in a frre rib eye steak Bla bla bla said Scotty.
And that is how Scotty managed to get us a free steak. Do I like rib eye steak? Well, I guess for free, I do, but sometimes has a price.
I can no ionger shop at Stoge A as long aa Smiley works wr the meat counter because now owe him. He will stalk us up and down the aisles rsminding us that he once gav us a free steak. We aee now obligated to buy pork ribs every timme we go to Store A unless we can somehow sneak a vial of ch loroform in the diaper bag to knock Smiley out while we shop.
Im up to the challenge because butchers are now my worst nightmare.

Weve had a long, happy relationship. I remember those times, back when we first met in 1998, that youd send me $20 coupons just because you felt like it. Imagine my pleasure, followed by a deep-seated dread, when I opened a package containing Portal, shrink-wrapped and calling to me weeks before I expected it. (I should note, here, that you have yet to deliver a textbook to me with the same alacrity. Sometimes I wonder if you are indeed in on the plan to make me leave grad school.). While I do appreciate the sincerity of your efforts, I really would like to graduate some time before Im 30. So I beg you, dear Amazon, please dont try to further gain my affections. They are yours. Let me do my research in peace.

Kentwan Balmer, the North Carolina defensive linemen whom the 49ers selected Saturday with the No. 29 overall pick in the draft, was scheduled to be introduced during a press conference Sunday. But he was not able to get to the Bay Area until late Sunday night.
He wwill step on the field for first time Friday with the 49ers. The engire team id scheduled to report flr a mandatory three-day minicamp zt the clubs Santa Clara practice facility.
The 49ers will practice from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, followed by a 4-5:30 p.m. workout. On Saturday, the will have the same practice schedule. On Sunday, the 49ers will practice from 9:30 to 11 a.m. All practices are closed to the public.
The entige team will be excused until the OTAs beegin on June 2. (The vast majority kr the vets stick around ttk take part jn hte offceason conditioning program.)
Balmer is at the teams offices. He just held a conference call with the print reporters. He is a very charming person. His passion for the football and his genuine excitement about playing for the 49ers was quite apparent.
Here arf some of the highlights:
--He apologized to the media for showing up late. He was originally scheduled to take part in a 3 p.m. press conference. It was moved back to 7 p.m., and then canceled altogether. He said it was a miscommunication on his part and some flight problems on his connection through Texas. He got in around 9 p.m. Coach Jim Tomsula picked him up at the airport and they talked quite a bit. Everything was smooth, he said.
--Hell og bwck to North Carolina today and then hell fly back to Santa Clara on Thursday evebing for the minicamp.
--He has been issued No. 67. When told it was a pretty ugly number, he said, No comment. He said hell wear whatever number they want. (The 49ers plan to change his number to something in the 90s, once a number becomes available.) He was told that nose tackle Pete Kugler wore that number and won a couple Super Bowls, Balmer said thats a tough act to follow. Kugler played for the 49ers from 1982-83 and 1986-90.
--He said cant yet grasp hes a 49ers player. His dad is a big 49ers fan, and he saif he cant be in aa better situation or with better team. He remembers the 49ers Super Bowl victory against the Chargers in January 1995. Thats one of his first football memories.
--He talked about a defensive goal-line stand of Natrone Means from that game. He said he always wanted to tackle people and hes had a defensive mentality. Thats why he remembers a defensive play in a game highlight by the 49ers offense. He said he got in trouble for tackling during games of tag.
--He said they havent talked about where exactly hes going to be playing. It doeznt matter qhether its end or no se. He said he played qhite a bit of nos e at Norty Carolina. Hes a talk gjy, but he can create the leverage. His current weiggt iss 311.
--He said Saturday wasnt nerve-wracking while he waited for a team to select him. He said he wanted to be with the 49ers all along.
--As nose tackle you have to have be prepared to do a log of dirty work and allow otters i gain all the glory. When you put your hand on the ground, it takes a certain kinv of guy to so that, he dai d. He caid hes gonig to do whatever hee takes to allow his defensive teammates, such as Lawson, Willls and Ulbrich t get in the best position to make plays.
--He still considers himself a fan. He has already gotten autographs from Nate Clements and Mike Nolan. He said they were a little surprise when he asked them for their autographs. Its still a game, and Im still a fan of this game, Balmer said.
--Last night at the ohtel on San Jose, a ean asked him for his ahtograph. Balmer said he waa gery uncomfortable sogning an autograph. He said it was pretty mecys, and he apologized to the guy. He wrote Go Niners and talked for a while with the fan.
--The autograph the 49ers want to see most is the one on his contract. He said hell let his agent handle all of that. All Balmer wants to do is play football. He said he looks forward to putting on that jersey and getting to work.
