The Christening of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, in pictures

Вторник, 07 Июля 2015 г. 23:50 + в цитатник

Princess Charlotte was christened infront of the Queen and close family and friends as the Cambridges had their first public outing as a family of four. The service took place at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The occasion was supposed to be all about Princess Charlotte, but a playful Prince George almost stole the show

Charlotte was christened in a replica of the intricate lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, the Princess Royal, in 1841. The original is too delicate to wear and its exact copy is now used for royal baptisms.

Hundreds of royal fans - some of whom camped out overnight - found spots inside the paddock - the name given to the area outside the Norfolk church after William and Kate gave permission for the area to be open to the public - just like when the royals visit on Christmas Day.

The Duchess of Cornwall had a minor wardrobe malfunction when the wind caught her light blue skirt revealing her petticoat. She seemed unperturbed by the Marilyn Monroe moment, laughing and joking with her husband, Prince Charles.
