Dear Sir Prime Minister Stephen Harper,
we, citizens of Russia, are urging you to stop this unnecessary, bloody and cruel slaughter of seal populations in Canada.
Our civilized world is against this cruel act!
Canadas commercial seal hunt will be under intense scrutiny this year, as the European Union considers banning the trade in seal products.
In the same week that Russia announced an end to the hunting of seal pups under a year old, the Canadian government released that they will allow for the slaughter of 280,000 (or even more) harp seal pups this year putting further strain on seal populations.
We are proposing to boycott 2010 Olympic Games, as well as stop the purchase of any exported Canadian products, and will urge as many of our citizens as possible to stop travelling to Canada until this massacre stops.
Now it is the time to change the values and morals of those who are involved in this bloody business. People around the world understand that your arguments to continue the slaughter are cynical and are beyond any critic.
The citizens of our countries will continue to fight against this and are prepared to protest as long as it takes the government of Canada to outlaw the hunting of seals.

Good morning, Dear Mr. President!
There is a situation in which we need your help – please help us to prevent gross killing babies. It’s not human children – baby seals, but they’re still cubs. In these days they’re just getting born, but already in few weaks hunters’ll start to kill’em. Bay Seals’re crying and screaming “Momy!!!!” exactly like human babies. Their mothers hear their screams, they’re screaming and crying, seeing how someone kills their children but they can’t help, they’re not able to protect and save’em from this sufferings.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are slaughtered on the ice fields off Canada's east coast for their pelts. Over 95% of the seals killed during this hunt are just days or weeks old. 79% of the sealers did not check to see if an animal was dead before skinning it. In 40% of the kills a sealer had to strike the seal a second time, presumably because it was still conscious after the first blow or shot. 42% of killed seals examined were found to have minimal or no fractures, suggesting a high probability that these seals were conscious when skinned.
In the same week that Russia annouced an end to the hunting of seals under a year old, the Canadian goverment released today that they will allow for the slaughter of 280,000 harp seal pups this year. Hunting was opened at March 23!
This is outrageous. This quota is completely indefensible. It’s not supported by markets, it’s not supported by the DFO’s own management plan, and it’s certainly not going to be supported by the majority of Canadians.
Dear Mr. President, You have the power –PLEASE, help baby seals from all over the world. We’re sure YOU CAN help with it – SAVE THE LIVES OF THIS SNOW ANGELS for this and next generations! PLEASE!!!
