The light of day has shown that the cat was long since dead judging by the look of his fur. I couldn't find a friendly hand to help me get him down and as you can see it's pretty high for me to be able to handle this on my own. So I guess it will be city services on Monday. Can't really leave him hanging there, can we? Although people don't even see it but it will start to smell... Not to say I deeply feel for the poor thing having found its end in such a strange way.
Saw a disturbing sight today: First I thought it's asleep but it wasn't moving at all while the tail seemed to be slightly swinging in the wind and for this it has to be completely relaxed which I never saw to actually happen on cats...
If it's dead I wonder how it happened so weirdly: he seems to have his neck stuck between branches but wouldn't he be meowing non-stop for hours or days so someone would notice before starving? And if happened faster, did it freeze overnight when it was cold or could a cat break himself a neck trying to break free?..
Terrible picture anyway, especially if it's dead there on the tree, right in the middle of Odessa, in a pretty crowdy place - Tiraspolska str, right above the end stop of tram 10.
Anyway, I still have some hopes it was just asleep - cats sometimes exercise exquisite balance tricks. Will check on him tomorrow (it's near where I live, one street up the corner).
Yesterday while talking to a friend over the phone I suddenly remembered our movie studio holds a festival of Irish movies - IrishFest - these days and we agreed to go see one today.
32A As the program stated, it was about young girls obsessed with their growing breasts but it was actually more interesting and kind than that.The brightest moments were with the most powerful music - something with refrain "I'm a woman" in the beginning when the main character wears her bra for the first time, and the other one very funny with western kind of music when a hero walks into a saloon full of enemies, only it was the last girl from the company walking into a shop to buy her first bra. 32A is the size.
I also particularly liked the way the main character overcame her humiliation with first attempt at dating with work in her home while her mom was in the hospital (womb scraping, they've already got 4 kids) and it shows how it made her grow up internally.

Made me cry with tears of relief. Not real relief like anything is solved but a relief of admitting some feelings to myself, freedom to face them. I say one hell of a score for a TV-series!

I do continue to watch SGU, not because I like the show but for a number of other reasons, in order of importance:
Stargate franchise got me too involved with 10 season of SG-1 & 5 seasons of SGA, so I keep an eye on what's going on further.

Apparently for a sci-fi show it does not have a lot of action or events at all. A really funny movies about a very sad subject: how our mothers whose personal life wasn't so great think they know what's best for us in our personal life and insist on in, leaving sometimes little space to breathe. Unfortunately, in real life it rarely ends as well as here...
This movie reminded me "The Other Sister" because there are three sisters and the same mother - Diane Keaton.
I set out to watch it also for a cutie ('The Other Sister' was for Joe Flanigan), Colin Ferguson this time, who has a tiny part, but at least I didn't regret this movie. Romantic comedy is a nice genre for a Sunday evening indeed.
And I like the message, at least the way I got in in the canvas of my current considerations living a life where I played for myself such a mother's role: life is too short to spend it on reasonable things, because life can only be felt, not reasoned through and it's a dull existence when you try to over-protect yourself with

It's a very perplexing movie, not by its content but by its quality.
The movie start gives a certain promise, driven by a pretty charged music and very specific lighting in the overexposed manner of '300'. But unfortunately, as things unfold, we find no content to support this impression.
The dialogs makes little sense apart from the information they deliver about the story, there are a lot of lines you wander why are they there for. Personages behaviour is very unnatural, they move mostly like dolls, and the suspended close-up scenes look even stranger because they bear no real meaning.
Perhaps, the makeup and costumes department job is also on a good level, because it doesn't jump to the eye for good or bad. The personages, at least, look all right for the story, even if a little too naked sometimes...
Yes, cheesecakes - all right - are spread thickly along the entire movie, sometimes even too candid for a children's kind of genre, such as is a tal...
It was such a beautiful day today! When winter seemed already closing in early, the Sun came to bid us a warm farewell. God, I love the Sun so much! I wish that afternoon walk could be repeated every day, but everything comes in cycles... and this only makes such days even more
Watching Eureka series now and seeing some parallels with SGA. Not positive tendencies but interesting and thought provoking.
I'm looking of course at the lead characters John Sheppard and Jack Carter here. Namely, at some point both series start to ridicule their hero. It took place in Eureka earlier by age than in SGA starting to make fun of Sheppard (and luckily not as mocking) but in absolute time closely in both series. May be it has even something to do with the state of the spirit of the nation, because here we are some four years later watching much more moody stuff. Good thing some folks still keep up the hero & team work driven series, or I don't know what I'd be watching. I mean I understand why it's done from creators standpoint, but I still do not like this. I think it's best to set the ideal high, but it must be the time in which we're leaving: averaging everything, damn it. OK, just my opinion.
Second thing I understood when I was watching an Eureka re-run episode ...
It's not fun knowing stuff beforehand, really, at least in this case for me. For 3x05 I saw a teaser on TNT and for this one saw tweets all over the Leverage team. So Christian Kane is singing. This must have been a cool episode for his fans but I'm not. I mean, I can easily see what makes gals crazy about him but it doesn't touch me - not my type, as simple as that.
Speaking of my types, Nathan was very nominal in this episode. But he wore that Texas money bag style again which suits him pretty well and did a funny stupid accent. Sophie is mistreating him again, even if while playing, she takes too much pleasure in slapping him. I'm telling you this woman has control issues indeed!
Now a pleasant surprise was Parker who played weird. I wouldn't have recognized her for the world if she was just made up like this in some other show. Really funny! I love weird. It was a little Farscape-like, you know But all in all - no excitement somehow. Kane is certainly sugar but there's a reason ...
OK, I did a bunch of tests basing on different texts and came up with some pretty hilarious results like Stephen King (me philosophing out an unpleasant event) David Foster Wallace (several posts about TV series) James Joyce (probably haven't slept enough, analyzing relationships) Douglas Adams (sarcastic criticism of translators)
But the closest to what would be my fiction (a dream synopsis) gave this:
When I woke up after a good sleep in which I understandably was pulling off some cons with the Leverage team, I realized that Nathan Ford most of all reminds me my Norwegian brother in fact. And that this story no matter that long buried is not however forgotten nor gotten over with. Honestly, this hurts. A lot. But I survived, for today at least
After that I did a simulation in my mind (a process similar to what writers use to develop a situation in the story by playing it out in their imagination) concerning Leverage main heroes "love drama" and I understood something... The series story says that Nathan's loosing control and putting his team in danger. But why did this happen in the first place? Because Sophie left him without moral support! He only called her when realizing his team is cornered due to his reckless plan nearly broke him. He, as a result, had to sacrifice himself, got shot, spent 6 month in jail, escaped and ended up on illegal status. Oh yes, he also accepted hi...
In the afternoon I decided to go through all the Leverage episodes in order to make sure I didn't miss any (I did one initially). And I discovered another interesting thing about these series: you can watch them right away again, even though you already know the tricks! Many places made me forgot I'm only skimming through and I actually rewatched big chunks in most of the episodes, and Season 3 beginning - completely!
...what? I do need a day off!
So, the show not only has good stories but also excellent performance that makes it fascinating by itself!
And another thing I realized suddenly: they don't have all this sexual bullshit.
The only people who supposedly have any personal life from time to time and one that we do not actually see are Sophie and Eliot. Hardison is too much a braniac, Parker is naturally innocent (her mind is not poisoned with all that sex-hunt notions) and Nathan Ford... I would call him pristine. He has ex-wife he cares for, he loves Sophie but he doesn't even t...
OK, to be completely honest, I've been eying this series probably since the beginning on my favourite series provider site, but there was enough other stuff to watch. But recently in a state of needing some impressions fix I saw the first episode of Season 3 of Leverage and I liked it! The next two episodes became available within days from each other and that got me hooked. I've got the first two seasons and swallowed them really fast - like in two weeks or less! So the emo-venting is going to take some space! There are several reasons why I loved this show (not as much as Farscape or Andromeda, mind you but it could probably compete with Stargate Atlantis if not for one cause ).
Reason number one - the same I've been eying this show from the start. The lead. I admit that I've not memorized the actor's name yet but if you know me, you can see, he's my sweet heart backdoor type. Not completely but close enough to make watching it quite enjoyable despite the dar...
