Hello! I don't think I've ever posted in this community before; I'm not even too big on commenting (eventhough I love most of the entries). I'm comming here with a small request, but also with a sort-of an introduction. Nice to meet you all, now I will proceed on with my post..
Me and my friends are going to
Paris this Spring and, as we have no idea about what, where, why, when in Paris, I'm asking you to help me! Please, share information about any good shops- clothes shops, coffee shops; any interesting places which are not specifically "tourist cites". We enjoy young fashion designers and contemporary art, so anything that has to do with one of those is pretty welcome. Thank you!
As about me, my name's Evelina and I'm 17 years of age. I'm half-Bulgarian, half-Belarusian and I currently live in Bulgaria; I used to live and study in Japan until two weeks ago, though. In a nutshell, I love fashion, cinematography and baseball. To put it more in detail..
I always say I like "fashion, cinematography and baseball", because that's the easiest thing to do- there's actually a lot of things I like or dislike. I like
music, but I don't really care about what I listen to. Last.fm says
"japanese, female vocalists, punk, electronic, indie, alternative, new wave, rock, ambient", but I don't really trust it, seeing that Miley Cyrus song up there. And, no, I'm not ashamed about liking Miley.
I shall repeat myself and say I don't care about music. Yet, I can't help but always point out how much I adore my all time vocal love-
Shiina Ringo:
My taste in movies is a bit simillar to my taste in music- it usually starts (or ends) with
"japanese", as the majority of what I watch is, indeed, japanese. I do watch other cinema, of course- I rather enjoy Kim Ki-duk's movies, some french movies here and there, old russian and bulgarian movies, as that's what I grew-up to, and, if it'a good, Hollywood's latest piece.
You could always look through my
movie reviews to see what I'm currently obsessing over, but they're all in Bulgarian and probably would be of no help to you.
If I was a man, my style icon would probably be
Odagiri Joe. Because I am a woman (or probably still a girl), I simply adore him, without trying and failing to grow a beard.
For those who have no idea who he is, he is a Japanese actor, starring in movies such as "Scrap Heaven", "Bright Future", "Maison de Himiko" and the new Kim Ki-duk movie "Dream". There's probably people, who would call him the
"japanese Johnny Depp", but I personally despise the idea of calling talanted and unique foreign actors "(insert country here) Johnny Depp". And, besides, Johnny has kind of gone way down on my list of talanted and unique actors..

As for fashion.. it's my biggest passion, probably. I've gone through many periods in my life- I used to be a punk, I used to dress in hip-hop inspired clothes, I even used to be a mallgoth (which I fail to know the right spelling of). Nowadays, I try to kick it more simple- second hand stores and designer clothes. I'm a huge fan of
